Located near Bonanza Ecological Reserve in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, the Bonanza Ecological Reserve Mammal Clay Lick is a unique natural area. Here, various mammal species such as tapirs, capybaras, agoutis, peccaries, and several species of monkeys converge to consume salts and minerals, essential for balancing their pH levels and diet, similar to macaws at clay-lick.

Join us for a late afternoon visit to this remarkable site. Situated in custom hides as dusk settles, we patiently await the arrival of these fascinating creatures. It’s not uncommon to encounter other species in the area, including jaguars and ocelots, as they hunt for their next meal, adding to the thrill of the experience.

Guided by our knowledgeable team, visitors can observe and learn about the behaviors and conservation efforts aimed at protecting these diverse mammal species in their natural habitat.

Our Story

Inspiring Worldwide Conservation Through Adventure.​ We are a family-run company based in Cusco offering camping and trekking expeditions deep into the jungle. Our expeditions bring you close to the restricted Biological Research Zone of the Manu National Park.

We offer full adventure: trekking, climbing trees, camping, bird watching and jungle exploration. Our guides have lived all their lives in the jungle and know everything about its distinctive plants, animals and culture.

​Our first objective is our commitment to the ENVIRONMENT. As a Manu Park Tour Operator, we feel that it is our responsibility to keep Peru pristine and beautiful for future generations. On our tours, we do everything we can to ensure we leave as little impact as possible. We educate our tourists to be respectful of the JUNGLE. We don't leave any trash in the jungle, instead it is collected and bright back to Cusco to be disposed of properly. As much as possible, we use recyclable, reuseable, environmentally friendly products and solar panel electricity in our lodges.

We are also cleaning up Pilcopata Road and Alto Madre de Dios River. As you can imagine, with hundreds of tourists and locals traveling to the jungle every day the routes can end up pretty dirty over the course of the year. Although we do our part of taking all our garbage with us, not every agency nor tour guide is as as conscientious, so we take the extra step of organizing clean up tours during the off-season and high season. Working with a team of nature lovers, it doesn't take long to collect bags of plastic bottles and garbage,returning the trekking routes to the condition you expect them to be in. It's a small thing but every little bit helps.
