Southern Tawny-bellied Screech-Owl (Megascops usta) Lechuza de Vientre Leonado. Monotypic, nocturnal but sometimes begins to sing early at dusk, feeding mainly insects and other arthropods, but apparently sometimes also small vertebrates. Breeding natural holes in trees are used as nesting sites. The A-song of the male is a long series up to 20 seconds and more of equally spaced hollow hoots, beginning softly, increasing gradually in volumen… This beauty was video recorded at the garden of Manu Birding Lodge.
