The salt mines of Maras have more than 3000 pools of different sizes and dimensions, which are fed by salt water that comes from the subsoil of the Qaqawiñay mountain. The intense sunlight causes the water to evaporate, creating salt crystals that are then “harvested” with a piece of wood with which the salt is scraped. After this, it is placed in small baskets to eliminate the excess of water. After a few days, the water passage reopens and the process repeats.

Moray. These are gigantic natural holes in the surface of the land that were used to build in their contours terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation canals then we will head towards the Salineras located 7 km from Moray.

Pick up from your Hotel in the City Center and then go to the first visiting point of Chinchero where we will visit the archaeological center and the textile centers, after which we will visit Moray. These are gigantic natural holes in the surface of the land that were used to build in their contours terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation canals then we will head towards the Salineras located 7 km from Moray, we will pass through a Typical Spanish Town called Maras. Then we continue to Urubamba where a delicious lunch awaits us. Our last place to visit is the beautiful Andean city of Ollantaytambo. Let's hear all about the incredible history of this town and explore some of its pretty lanes. Afterwards we transfer you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley where you overnight!
