In Peru, and especially in the Andean regions of Cusco there are few communities where the people still maintain the ancestral traditions of the Incas, one of them is the Community of Humasbamba, where they show their traditions and customs, not only that also show their traditional culinary arts as the Pachamamca, traditional dish which this delicacy made from different meats and tubers is cooked in the ground in embers and fire, covered with stones and aromatic herbs of the area.
Humasbamba is located 40 minutes from the city of Cusco in the district of Chinchero known as the town of the rainbow, where the archaeological center of Chinchero is also located. It is an impressive place to enjoy a wonderful day surrounded by nature, lagoons, birds of the area and a lot of culture.

The Llamas in Machu Picchu Citadel contribute to the preservation of the landscape by naturally trimming the grass and vegetación, preventing overgrowth that might damage the ruins. Their presence connects visitors yo the ancient traditions and lifestyle of the Incas, as these animals were historically essential for their wool, meat, and pack animals in the Andes.

The Mountain of the Seven Colors of Palccoyo, in contrast to the Vinicunca, is a lesser-known site with fewer tourists each day. The journey there is significantly simpler because it only requires an hour-long walk. Like nowhere else, you can see the snow-covered Ausangate from its summit.

It was one of the most significant and sacred temples of the Inca empire and goes by the names Coricancha, Qoricancha, Qorikancha, or Koricancha. In Santo Domingo Plaza in Cusco, you may find its remains. The majority of Coricancha was destroyed by the Spanish when they arrived in Cusco, and the Santo Domingo Church was constructed on the temple's foundation and remaining walls, saving just a little portion of its original magnificence.
The Quechua word "kancha," which means temple or a site enclosed by walls, is combined with the English word "quri," which implies wrought gold. This suggests that the temple's name, Walls of Gold, roughly translates.

The most well-liked alternative trip to Machu Picchu is the Salkantay trek, also known as the Salcantay path, and with good reason. It is reasonably simple to reach from Cusco, provides trekkers an incredibly diversified trekking experience, and, unlike the Classic Inca Trail, has no permit restrictions.

In Peru, to the north of the Cusco region, is the Inca archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo. Huchuy Qosqo, a name given to the area by the natives in the 20th century, translates to "small Cusco" in Quechua. The citadel is thought to have been initially constructed around 1420 as an estate for the Inca Emperor Viracocha.

In southern Peru, there is an archeological site called Choquequirao. Due to the architecture, which is typical of the Inca buildings found in the highlands, it is an Incan monument that many people have compared to Machu Picchu. It shares certain structural similarities with Machu Picchu in that it is situated atop a spectacular mountain range and is rendered inhabitable by a flattened summit known as Sunch'u Pata.

North of Cusco, in the Urubamba Valley in Peru's High Andes, is where you can find the Inca city of Machu Picchu. A castle, an imperial retreat, and a ceremonial precinct have all been used to describe the location, which is positioned high above the Urubamba river.
Around the year 1450 CE, Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui erected it. At its height, it could house up to 1,000 people. It is considered to be one of the most sacred of all the Inca sites. Machu Picchu was abandoned and forgotten after the Inca empire fell, and it wasn't until the explorer Hiram Bingham found it again in 1911 CE that it was rediscovered. UNESCO has designated Machu Picchu as a World Heritage Site.

The Humantay Lake is the result of the melting of a sizable snow-covered mountain, which is itself a part of the Cordillera de Vilcabamba mountain range.
Since there is little flora in the waters of the Humantay Lagoon, its natural color is what sets it apart. When tourists try to capture the perfect moment with their cameras because they are so eager to capture landscapes, experiences, and moments, all of these things and more make it an ideal place that you should visit. It has an indescribable color in words, but understandable to the eyes, forming a unique landscape.

Despite its vibrant colors, Rainbow Mountain was notoriously difficult to locate. Even the most experienced tourists with highly qualified guides have had trouble finding it because it is hidden deep into the mountain range.
In the past, getting to its peak required a six-day hike. Bus tours to the mountain are widely available today, leaving from Cusco. The mountain has quickly overtaken other renowned tourist destinations in Peru as a result of its rising popularity. At its busiest, it can receive up to 4,000 visitors each day.

The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is a 26-mile/42-kilometer section of a road with stone pavement that was constructed by the Inca in the 15th century and was rediscovered in 1911. It is regarded as South America's best and most picturesque trekking location. Currently, it takes four days on average for people to accomplish the entire distance of this climb.
The Inca road system has been lauded by archaeologists as one of the New World's greatest engineering achievements, second only to the well-known ancient Roman roads.

The huge Inca Empire's capital, Cusco, is still a popular site for those interested in seeing Inca artifacts. One of the earliest settlements in the Western Hemisphere, it has a rich history intertwined with important occasions and lore. The Incas built an urban center here with various religious and administrative purposes, and the Spanish conquerors protected it by erecting churches and baroque palaces on top of the ancient city's ruins while preserving the city's structural integrity.

This is one of the few surviving specimens of the handwoven Incan bridges that were originally prevalent in the Incan road system. It is also known as Q'eswachaka, Queshuachaca, or Keshwa Chaca.
The bridge, which is 118 feet long and 60 feet above the raging river in the canyon, is made of woven straw. Small, thin ropes were braided by the Incan women into massive support cables, which were then braided once again by the males in a manner reminiscent of a contemporary steel suspension bridge. The Inca regarded handwoven bridges in the highest regard and they have been a component of the trail and road network for more than 500 years. Modifying such a bridge was punishable by death.

For all its striking colors, Rainbow Mountain was notoriously hard to find. It’s located deep in the mountain range, and even the most adept travelers with highly experienced guides have reported difficulty locating it.

In the past, it took about six days of hiking to reach its peak. Nowadays, there are plenty of bus tours departing from Cusco to the mountain. Due to the increase in popularity of the mountain, it has very quickly become Peru’s second most visited tourist site. During the peak season, it can see up to 4000 people per day.
