Our Story
Global in Diagnostic Disease Education (GID2E) will be changing its name to Infectious Disease Education Association (IDEA). IDEA specializes in broadening global awareness of infectious disease by educating students about the diagnosis, pathology, and treatment of infectious disease. GiD2E offers medical and scientific educational opportunities to students in the basic science of diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases while providing medical assistance to other countries. In addition to raising awareness about infectious disease on a global scale, GID2E offers educational opportunities to U.S. students interested in studying infectious disease medicine in Peru. GiD2E’s introductory course is an intensive, 7 day course in tropical medicine and infectious disease, which is taught in Iquitos, Peru (9-10 days with travel). The course consists of clinical rotations, lectures, a jungle clinic, lab rotation, a day with a local shaman, and much more.
