Costa Rica covers just a small area of the planet, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in the spectacular nature of its landscapes, wildlife and vegetation. An incredible 4% of all of the Earth’s species can be found in this tiny pocket of Central America, making it one of the most biologica...

Costa Rica has the lowest COVID-19 case fatality rate in the region, and the country currently has more recovered cases than active cases. There is no registered community transmission, and daily infections have fallen significantly (they have remained below 10 cases in recent weeks). At the beginning of May, there were less than half a dozen infected patients in Intensive Care Units throughout the whole country.

How has Costa Rica achieved these impressive results? Here are five key reasons.

Costa Rica is reopening for tourism August 1st!!! 🇨🇷🌤🏖

Here is what we know so far:

😷 The wearing of masks in public places was just made mandatory on June 27th, so tourists should expect the rule to stand in August. Traveller should expect to wear a mask on their flight, in the airport, and during their stay.

❤️ Like many Caribbean countries, Costa Rica is contemplating using a health declaration card that travellers fill out prior to their trip. This form will not only help to pre-screen inbound passengers but can also help with tracing in event of an outbreak.

👩‍⚕️Tourists should expect thermal scans upon arrival and symptom checks.

🛩At this time, mandatory testing at airport is not planned.

Costa Rica is reopening its borders for tourism on August 1, 2020. Here's which flights go there first, who can visit, plus other entry requirements
