The Intipunku is a construction made of stones as a center for worship of the Inca gods: the mountains, the sun, the stars, the moon and the earth. Its name comes from a Quechua word that means 'gate of the sun'. During the mornings and especially during the summer solstices, the sun's rays pass through this door. Here the Incas performed religious ceremonies of great importance. Through this door you have a spectacular view of the snowy Veronica, also called Wakay Willka: sacred tears. Today the Intipunku of Ollantaytambo is one of the attractions that impresses and delights those who know it. Do not miss it .. !🙏🏔️😃👍
The archaeological site of Raqaypata is located at the top of the Perolniyoc waterfall at 3560 m above sea level. n. m.[1] Raqaypata, comes from the mixture of two Quechua words: Raqay which means shed and pata which means upper part. The enclosure is made up of roofless buildings located in the upper part. This name is quite recent since the real name of the place is unknown. It dates back to pre-Inca times and was inhabited by the ethnic group called Cugmas until the arrival of the Incas, who took possession of the place after a great battle. Raqaypata was rebuilt during this period in which ceremonial enclosures, administrative sites, homes, warehouses, and kallankas were built. Likewise, there was the presence of hydraulic channels.
