Time to go home … in Cusco
Ollantaytambo
Inka stonemasons cut stones with incredible precision, often without the use of metal tools. They fit the stones together so perfectly that not even a piece of paper can be inserted between them. The stones were shaped using a combination of percussion tools and abrasion techniques, resulting in highly accurate joints.
• No Mortar: Unlike many ancient structures, Inka walls were constructed without mortar. The stones were meticulously shaped and polished to fit together in a way that ensured stability and strength.
• Seismic Resistance: The Inka were aware of the seismic activity in the Andes. They designed their walls with slight inclinations and trapezoidal shapes, making them more resistant to earthquakes. The interlocking stones could move slightly without collapsing, absorbing seismic shocks effectively.

2. **Sacred Valley:** A region with picturesque landscapes, charming villages, and significant archaeological sites.
3. **Amazon Rainforest:** One of the most biodiverse areas on the planet.
4. **Lake Titicaca:** The highest navigable lake in the world, known for its floating islands and traditional cultures.
5. **Nazca Lines:** Mysterious geoglyphs in the desert whose origins and purposes are still debated.

Beauty is subjective, and what makes a country the "most beautiful" can vary based on individual preferences. While many travelers find Peru exceptionally beautiful, other countries like New Zealand, Switzerland, and Italy are also frequently cited for their stunning landscapes and cultural attractions. Ultimately, the "most beautiful" country is often a matter of personal opinion.

Uros Island, Titicaca
Uros Islands are made entirely from totora reeds; the lives of the inhabitants of these artificial islands are entirely dependent upon the reed beds they live among.
Totora reeds were first used centuries ago to build these islands on Lake Titicaca by the Uro-Aymara families who made their home on the lake. The local people’s boats are also made from totora reeds, and they use these vessels for fishing.
Even some of the islanders’ handcrafts are made from totora reeds, and the friendly people of this community offer their work to visitors as a souvenir of their visit to this magical place.

Balletas Islands, Paracas
The Paracas skulls
In the late 1920s, Peruvian archeologist Julio Tello found hundreds of cone-shaped skulls in the Paracas region of Peru.
Their unique shape has prompted speculation over time, including various claims of an extraterrestrial origin.
