🙏Many thanks to our Canadian visitors 🇨🇦. Today we had a touristic experience in the city of Lima, getting to know its history, gastronomy and main tourist attractions.

🏢Miraflores, one of Lima's modern districts, is known as the tourist, gastronomic and hotel centre of the city. Its privileged location by the sea and its beautiful boardwalk make it the perfect place to capture unforgettable photos.

🕍The centre of Lima is the main monumental area of the city. Its streets, churches and buildings take us back to its historical past. Because of its cultural, architectural and historical importance, the monumental area of Lima has been a World Heritage Site since 1991.

🏬The Gran Hotel Bolivar represents the architectural modernism that emerged in Lima at the beginning of the 20th century. Its facilities housed various celebrities, politicians, intellectuals and artists. Inside the hotel you can still find the Ford Model T, one of the first modern automobiles that arrived in Lima in the 1920s.

▶️El arte en el antiguo Perú 🇵🇪 se presenta hace 10 mil años. Los objetos que observamos fueron usados como materiales ceremoniales, ofrendas funerarias, medios de difusión ideológica, expresión religosa y obras maestras que plasmaban el ideario de los artistas prehispánicos.

🏺Los Mochicas alcanzaron un nivel artístico muy alto. Produjeron esculturas naturalistas y dibujaron con trazos finos escenas sobre la superficie de la cerámica.

Luego de la integración de los estados regionales, los artistas del antiguo Perú 🇵🇪 experimentan un cambio en la cerámica.

⚱️En la costa central se desarrolla un estilo de muy alta calidad conocida como "Pachacamac" influenciado por el fenómeno "Huari", dando inicio al "Periodo Fusional" del arte prehispánico.

En la costa sur, una de las regiones más áridas del Perú 🇵🇪 fue el espacio de producción de los artistas Nazcas. Las obras maestras de esta civilización coinciden con la Época Auge de la cerámica.

🐋La nazcas representaron en su arte la fauna y la flora de su entorno, entre ellos animales marinos como "La Orca".

⛈️Las culturas, como la energía, ni se crean ni se destruyen, sino se transforma. El fin de los Mochicas fue una descomposición socio- política, influida por un fenómeno del niño masivo, y la expansión Huari. Posteriormente en la costa norte surgen los estados Lambayeque y Chimu.*

📿El Imperio Chimú, en la costa norte, y el gran imperio Inca, que se expandió en la zona sur andina, representan la síntesis de las dos principales tradiciones del arte en el antiguo Perú 🇵🇪. En la época Imperial las obras maestras representan a los personajes de poder como seres humanos, en un contexto donde los señoríos y estados crecen y se expanden.

🕍El dramático choque cultural del mundo europeo y las sociedades indígenas inició en 1532 con la llegada de los españoles. El encuentro de dos mundos, La España Católica y la culturas indígenas de América fue trágico. Se enfrentaron dos maneras distintas de entender el mundo. Los conquistadores iniciaron un proceso denominado "Extirpación de Idolatrías".

🖼️La Sala Biti es un salón de exposiciones permanentes donde se muestra la influencia europea en el arte virreinal peruano.

🖌️El manierismo italiano, el barroco español y el de Flandes fueron los estilos artísticos predominantes. Su función principal fue expandir la fe católica en América, encajando en los ideales de la Contrarreforma de la Iglesia católica.

🇮🇹Italia, 🇪🇸España y 🇳🇱Flandes (Países Bajos) fueron los centros culturales que introdujeron la influencia del arte religioso en el Virreinato peruano. El arte del siglo XVI estaba dominado por Italia y el Renacimiento romano.

🧑‍🎨En este contexto, la influencia italiana fue la de mayor producción artística en el mundo occidental y en América. Entre sus principales representantes se encuentra Bernardo Bitti.

▶️Bernardo Bitti fue un jesuita y destacado pintor del manierismo italiano. Nació en 1548 en Camerino, Italia. Es considerado el padre de la pintura colonial peruana. Sus composiciones fueron decisivas para lograr la transformación del arte peruano.

🖼️Sus obras maestras fueron la semilla para el desarrollo del estilo cusqueño o andino. Su arte muestra un profundo sentimiento religioso, dulce y sin dramatismo, colores claros y la búsqueda de prototipos ideales.*

🕍Bernardo Bitti representó la presencia de la Iglesia Católica en América a través de la pintura religiosa. Su obra espiritualiza el manierismo toscano y nórdico, y se aleja de la tendencia romanista. Su estilo adopta figuras acartonadas con poses sofisticados y antinaturales. Las obras maestras destacan por los matices de tono pastel, suaves y agradables a la vista.

🖼️🎨🖌️Durante el desarrollo del arte virreinal, fueron tres las influencias europeas en la pintura: italiana (S.XVI), flamenca (S. XVII) y española (S.XVII y XVIII). Estás influencias se fusionaron creando un sincretismo religioso y se consolidó con la aparición de las tres escuelas sudamericanas: cusqueña, limeña y quiteña.

🖼️🎨🖌️During the development of viceregal art, there were three European influences on painting: Italian (16th century), Flemish (17th century) and Spanish (17th and 18th centuries). These influences merged to create a religious syncretism that was consolidated with the appearance of the three South American schools: Cusco, Lima and Quito.
