In the Old world: Primitive culture in the Old world began at the dawn of humanity and followed patters which in general terms were similar in Africa, Europe and Asia. The advance from the Paleolithic and Neolithic period occurred some 10,000 years ago in Asia Minor. Neolithic man began to plant crops and domesticate animals and these early sedentary societies developed into the first ancient civilization of Peru.
The Salkantay lodge trek follows the path of the Andes to Machu Picchu and is the second most unique experience to reach Machu Picchu. You will stay in our lodge 1 night, 2 nights in tents, and 1 night in a hotel. The entire trek is 4 days and 3 nights.

After any hiking trek, which can also be done with our native residents, our Huacahuasi Lodge is the perfect place to take a hot shower in your private bath, followed by relaxing with a glass of wine and organic foods and sleeping in a comfortable bed. You will have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of adventures. The valley is surrounded by 14,000 foot hills that encompass hiking, biking, bird watching, hot springs and more. We have llamas that are available as pack animals. The design and building of the lodge has been accomplished and recently completed by the people who dwell in the community. It is of Inca style from indigenous residents and their inherent and learned historical knowledge, that to this day are still alive in the genes of these direct descendants of the Incas.
After a nutritious breakfast in our Lodge we will embark on a 2hours walk, as you ascend Humantay Lake, which has an altitude of 13.123feet.

The south, one can reach Soraypampa via vehicle and from there, hike or travel via horse across Salkantay Gap to reach Machupicchu, after three days
We are the only tour operation in the Machu Picchu region of southern Peru with the unique offering of a hybrid experience. We offer the exhilaration of hiking, with anticipated relaxation and slumber in our authentic lodge, while also providing the opportunity to overnight in camping tents.
On the first night, after a day of hiking at the high altitude of 12,674 feet, you will sleep in our lodge, designed and built by our indigenous villagers. At a lower altitude of 8,700 feet above sea level, on the second night, you will settle in for a camping night in one of our comfortable tents.
The third night, in the village of Aguas Calientes, we will host you at the
Inkaterra Machupicchu pueblo hotel or you can stay in another hotel.
Finally, on the fourth day, the highlight of our tour, we will experience the ancient historic and breathtaking site of Machu Picchu.
