It's World Bread Day 🥖, and we'd like to take this opportunity to tell you about an absolute Polynesian delicacy: the coconut loaf 🍞 or "pain coco"

It's found all over the islands of Tahiti, and is usually eaten for breakfast or at snack time. Unlike the traditional bread recipe, the water is replaced by coconut water and milk. Some recipes even add grated coconut to the mix... Between us, this is one of our guilty pleasures at Tahiti Experiences 😅

Among the legends of Huahine, one still holds a special place in the hearts of Polynesians and locals alike: Bobby Holcomb 💚

Born in Hawaii, he moved to Huahine and became a key figure in Tahitian music 🎼 and Polynesian art 🎨. Polynesians quickly adopted him and began to sing his praises. Recognized by his fellow musicians, he defends the values of Polynesian culture and customs, as well as the protection of nature 🌱. Even today, his music and lyrics resonate in the Polynesian soul 🪽

Today, we're heading for Parea Bay in the south of the island of Huahine (Huahine Iti). Parea Bay lies opposite Araara Pass - a must-see spot for surfers 🏄- and the motu 🏝 of the same name.

It is also bordered by one of Huahine's most beautiful white sand beaches 🏖. Strolling along the beach, you won't want to miss the “Marae Anini”, a timeless symbol of Polynesian beliefs before the arrival of the first missionaries to the islands of Tahiti.

We conclude this month of August, dedicated to the Australes archipelago, with the island 🏝 of Rurutu. Once known as “Eteroa”, Rurutu takes on the appearance of Makatea Island, with its high limestone cliffs and numerous caves... a surprising geology that is a source of pride for its inhabitants.

Notwithstanding its neighboring islands, Rurutu also enjoys a mild climate, ideal for growing fruit 🍋🍈 and vegetables, particularly taro... a reputation that's well established 😎
