Down a dirt, Red road.

Where there's always a corner store,
Brown skin lovers
and stories of lore.

We'll drink Bepsi,
Hot Cheetos to eat.
Powwow,
Sundance,
Peyote,
Play songs with a beat.

Grandma in passenger,
To grip the "oh sh*t" handle,
on the roof the truck.
Keep her safe,
In case we get stuck.

Broken air conditioner,
Windows down,
Earth and sage,
Fresh sweet petrichor,
Let the Rez air blaze!

Our NDN instincts
Know the flow of the road,
Bumpy-
Slow and steady,
Muddy-
Pedal to the floor!

Our bodies swaying from side to side.
Laughing,
Giggling,
Jokes and 'Ayyees'!

All around us,
Open blue skies,
Reservation clay.

Let's go on a ride!

Bird Of Paradise

"In the misty mountains of Melanesia
Where the clouds sleep and the trees whisper
There lives a bird with feathers of gold
The Bird of Paradise, a sight to behold

With wings like a rainbow, and a dance so free
It flutters, flits, and flies wild and carefree
A symbol of hope, in a land so torn apart
The Bird of Paradise, a beauty to the heart

But as the forest falls, and the trees come down
The Bird of Paradise, is forced to leave its town
It searches for a home, a place to rest its head
But finds only concrete, and a world that's been bled

Oh, Bird of Paradise, how we've wronged you so
Chased you from your home, and made you feel so low
But still you fly, and still you sing
A song of hope, in a world that's lost its wing

So let us cherish, this bird so rare
And protect its home, with love and care
For if we lose it, we'll lose a part of ourselves
The Bird of Paradise, a treasure to our wealth."

This poem is a beautiful tribute to the iconic Bird of Paradise, and also highlights the struggles of the Melanesian people and the importance of preserving their culture and environment.

Daughter of Eve
First woman of Simbu's Eden
Center of God's black tribe.

SineSine woman
Daughters of Sinegai.
Full, thick natural lips.
Nature gets aroused by your hips.

Chuave woman
My Kingstar Queen.
Envied by the women of Waterbung,
In your womb lies Kongo's future

Gumine woman
Orchids of the Wikauma hills.
Marel winds stops at your command
Best of the portraits that nature paints.

Karamui woman
You're daughter of Bomai Kawale
Under your cleavage, the Whagi flows
And between your fingers, golden threads are woven.

GEMBOGL

Gembogl is mountainous. The highest point being Mt. Wilhelm which looks down on other peaks from a 4509 meters height.

The mountains are in themselves a scenic beauty adding to the unique physical look of Gembogl.

The sloppiness of the geography poses a challenge to its inhabitants. Nonetheless the people have carved a living on these slopes and called it home for generations since time immemorial.

The land is as fertile as you would find on a volcanic site. Its people are amongst the leading producers of organic vegetables in the province and country.

Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrot, Strawberry, Cabbage, Round Onion, Garlic, Aspharagus, Potatoes, etc, have now become a major source of income for those who put their fingers in the soil.

The renown Wara Simbu twists and turns it way down from its sources, Lakes Piunde and Aunde, in the heart of Mt. Wilhelm. Fed by other creeks and rivers along the way what begins as a creek swells into a river fighting its way down via hard rock.

Over millenia Wara Simbu has carved a gorge so deep that traveling on the road, which runs along the gorge, would evoke goosebumps at the thought of plugging down the cliff surface should any accident happened to the vehicle you are traveling on.

The people are friendly as you would want anyone to be. They're masters of a culture who would come out in stunning traditional regalia when the occasion to do so arises.

Take a trip to Gembogl and experience it firsthand.

Go further up and have your foot imprinted on the grey boulders of Mt. Wilhelm.

A journey to the top is a journey of a life time to recall and cherish.

...The Pride Of Rocky Province...

Gone are the days of thy fore fathers' spear
Where the whole clans trembled in fear
But now beware, the 21 st century is here

United shall we hang our banner, the pride rock

Time's running, look at the clock
Apart from stones and coffee, resources nil in stock
Alas dont forget, even great kingdoms were built on rock

So remember this, the pride rock

The mountains in the likes of Mt. Wilhelm that stood tall, the rivers with its roaring musical tones
The sand, pebbles, rocks and stones
Embrace those as if they were for thrones

Keep that baner yet, the pride rock

Home sweet home is what everyone's been told
As you read its starting to unfold
The banner with Green, red, white, black and gold

Yes pride rock it is

Feel the strength running through each bone when her fathers, brothers and sons all unite to roar the mighty wisimangrah! That's true
Feel the heat rushing down when her mothers shout, ayahh uuu!!!
That's right, they call her Simbu

SIMBU WARRIOR

The muscular naturally built Simbu warrior in red painted face beating the kundu drum repeatedly, on the foggy top of rocky Mount Wilhelm as morning cricket choirs as Sun horizon reflections emerged from Solomon Sea of Autonomous Region Of Bougainville. Echoes disturbing the sweetest sleep of boy from Bundi.Comes out with his candle inbuilt clay head dress.The joyfully reactions of nature as the cascading Jimi river flows smoothly to the Jimi valley as the Jimians tribes dressed in their traditional attires.As the eagles soaring up and flocked together.The Kalamist tribes slaughtered pigs and wear their luminating beetle head dresses.Beating the Kundu drums loudly as echoes reaches the Kovon valley. The kovon and hagahai dressed in traditional attires..Snow breezes shivered the Apo residing beneath the rocky mountain.Coming out with his fearful mask casted and moulded from Asaro soil.Armed with bow and arrow.Looks up to the top of Mount Wilhelm and discovered its Bismarck show.Time to play Kundu,blow bamboo panpipe and dance to the rythm,slaughter pigs eating red pandanut cream and exchanging young ladies. A season of brotherhood of the Bismarck range.

Your beauty is the color of a Baundo’s head
And there is a spackel in it like flares- flares of fire in the
Night Sky
Among leaves of the Chest-Nut trees, close to his nest
The Kua-Komba sing, and each note trills with
Great delight
Like the words, soft with music, that well from your
Trembling throat.
Your eyes, they’re are so bold, striking like diamond
With coated alembic of gold and feathers
But sometimes they are gentle and soft like the dew on
The petal of a fiery orchid
Before the sun come warms Waiye with his kiss of life
You are snow-foam, pure with star’s loveliness,
Not mortal, a flower, a fairy, too fair to the
Beauty shorn- Earth
All wonderful things, all beautiful things, gave of their
Blessings to your birth.
Oh! Your foot-steeps sounds with admiration and passionWhere you sit, scarlet roses bloom to adore
The liveliness thee presence ignite with dominance and pride
But men will love you ! for you a flower, a fairy,
a non-mortal spiritCrowned with a heart of charity
And forever your spirit of devotion and reverence
Will live in your brother’s heart.

Simbu is rich with Natural Gifts name it, Simbu produce both quality and quantity of life and SIMBU is colorful' its natural, Simbu Ambai 's are beautiful and Special. It is our gift and our pride . CONGRATULATIONS TO KARIMUI COCOA GROWERS, SUPPORTERS & PROMOTERS. WELL DONE.

KARIMUI IS IN SIMBU PROVINCE OF PNG AND HAS BEGUN GROWING COCOA IN THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. THE COCOA IS NOW BEING PROCESSED INTO CHOCOLATE & IS LABELLED "SIMBU COCOA" . THIS IS AWESOME AND SIMBU IS THE FIRST HIGHLANDS PROVINCE TO GROW COCOA.

ECONOMICALLY, THE GEOGRAPHICAL ISOLATION WOULD RENDER HIGH TRANSACTION COST MAKING SIMBU COCOA OR CHOCOLATE PRODUCT LESS COMPETITIVE IN THE MARKETS LET ALONE QUALITY. HENCE, FOR PRICE AND PRODUCT SUSTAINABILITY & PROFITABILITY, GOV'T INTERVENTIONS IN FREIGHT & PRICE IS NECESSARY. ALTERNATIVELY, A PUBLIC, PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP) MODEL IS DEEMED NECESSARY FOR THAT MATTER.

THE COVID19 DISRUPTIONS OF SUPPLY CHAIN DIRECTS EVERY COUNTRY TO LOOK WITHIN THEIR MEANS AND AGRICULTURE IS OF COURSE THE PRIMARY MEANS.
