Be part of our community for a couple of days, and dive into our culture and ceremonies.

On of the many ceremonies is the 'Initiation Ceremony' during which the shape of the crocodile skin and/or crocodile bites are carved into the young men's skin. Those are unique ceremonies along the Middle and Upper Sepik.

It is a ritual that is being held to give 'rebirth' to the men - the shape of crocodile skin is being carved into the boy's skin and after the healing, he'll be reborn as a men.

The crocodile also reflects protection as it protects the tribe's territories from enemies from/in the water.

You can't really book such events. If you are curious and want to learn more, come by and hope that an initiation ceremony is held while you are staying with Greg and his family and friends.

Let me introduce you to your guides Jonathan (left) and Greg (right) who will take very good care of you and make you'll get your best Sepik River experience. Both are from Kaminbit Village (Middle Sepik). After an amazing time on the river, they dropped me off in Wewak (a town to which you can fly from Port Moresby to get to the Sepik).

Hello to all adventurers out there,

I am Alina, a passionate traveller myself (German based in France), and since my very special, unique and adventurous trip to Papua New Guinea, one of the rawest, most untouched, unique and colourful places, I am starting to support and help organise local communities along the Sepik River with tours desired by people who would love to experience the local life in one of PNG's most beautiful provinces.

I spent some time in Kaminbit Village, one of the beautiful, tropical, and very green and lush villages on the Middle Sepik which is rich in spiritual culture, languages and kind people who are looking forward to welcome and host you in one of their guesthouses and introduce you to their community and village life.

Travels on the Sepik include refreshing dugout canoe rides from village to village, crocodile hunting, enjoying delicious home-grown organic fruits and vegetables and fresh fish and prawns from the river, walks through the clean and well-maintained, tropical villages, 'story-telling' at night to learn about the village history and how their ancestors fought for their land, learning about spiritual ceremonies, and fall asleep in your hut, under your mosquito net, while reading a book with your flashlight, listening to the tropical night acoustics.

My mission is to introduce you to my friends Greg, Jonathan, his brothers and more lovely people (Iatmul tribe) from Kaminbit Village, and help you organise your unforgettable Sepik River adventure with them. I had a wonderful time along the Sepik and made friends with Greg and Jonathan and their families for life.
