The Concierge, the Official Student Publication of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management hailed Champion for the Literary Writing Category and 1st Runner Up for the Column Writing Category during the University Press Conference 2025 held last Jan 21-22 along with the celebration of the University Days 2025

Ma Mercedes De Jesus a freshman reportorial staff hailed champion for the literary writing competition while Jamin Demolay Lingad, literary editor grabs 1st runner up in the Column Writing Competition.

The Press Conference organized by The Angelite – the Official Student Publication of HAU was themed “𝘾𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙪𝙨 𝙅𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜.”

The Awarding ceremony was held on Jan 24 after the coronation of Mr. and Ms. HAU 2025 alongside the announcement of the Overall Winners for the University Days 2025.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | We have set sailed to defy the laws of the waves with 𝙃𝙄𝙈𝙄𝙂: 𝘼 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩

This much awaited concert took place at the heart of the HAU Piazza with the proceeds from tickets purchased by the Angelites going directly towards the Atin Ito Coalition in hopes of supporting fellow Filipinos and fisherfolk with the struggles in the conflict in the West Philippine Sea.

This benefit concert was made possible seven absolutely talented performers as well as the champion of the previously concluded Battle of the Bands. Truly, the Piazza was filled with various genres, styles, and vibes.

Fellow Angelites and beloved guests jammed out and sang their hearts along with Brian Nucup, Square Streets, Nayobiii, Carl Timbol, The Ridleys, Johnoy Danao, and above all, Over October.

HIMIG: A MUSICAL EXPEDITION BENEFIT CONCERT had truly captured the hearts of the audience with the gentle sway of the waves filled with perfect harmony and heart-warming lyrics. This was not just a concert but rather, a space where young students, visitors, and professors united together against the conflict in the West Philippine Sea. The concert sealed the deal as it concluded with a breathtaking fireworks display prepared by the University Student Council.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | SHTM Pageant bet secures 4th runner-up

The stage at the HAU Piazza came alive on Jan 24 with the crowning of the Mr. and Ms. HAU 2025, themed “𝙃𝙄𝙔𝘼𝙎: 𝙈𝙧. 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙨. 𝙃𝘼𝙐 2025.” The event saw Isla ng SBA take home the prestigious titles, captivating the audience with their poise and confidence.

The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management's bet Paul Angelo Tulabut and Mica Ella Nagayo took home the 4th Runners-Up Award. Tulabut's performance throughout the competition was outstanding, earning him multiple awards including Mr. Photogenic, Best in Ramp, Slimfair Choice Award, Nepo's Choice Award, Best in Cape Wear, and Best in Formal Wear. Nagayo also left a lasting impression, securing the Best In Production Number award for her captivating performance.

This year's pageant held significant importance by aligning with the fight for Philippine sovereignty and the West Philippine Sea conflict. The candidates showcased their dedication, hard work, and passion, using the platform to discuss and advocate for national causes.

It underscored the intellectual and professional abilities of the candidates in emphasizing the importance of involvement in critical societal issues. It was a night full of solidarity and advocacy, leaving the Angelite community inspired and the contestants proud of their contributions beyond the pageantry.

𝗔𝗟𝗢𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗞𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗔: 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗮 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗮 𝗶𝗯𝗮'𝘁 𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗮

Angelite students and visitors were in awe and enthusiastically applauded the contestants from different islands competing in the finals of Kresendo: Solo Singing Competition.

Their voices produced crescendos that reached the ears of the audience and created an emotional depth. Together with their raw talents, they successfully showcased at the HAU Piazza that voices should be heard, even from the distant cries of those islands in the West Philippine Sea.

Deanne Ashley Mangune, from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, once again made her department proud! Captivating the audience with her performance of "Natutulog ba ang Diyos," gaining her a spot as the 1st runner up during the 3rd day of the University Days 2025.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | UDAYS ‘25 exploded with energy as HAUTAW and BDC showdown ignited the piazza

HAU witnessed a frenzy of excitement as students unleashed their inner performers in the electrifying HAUTAW and BDC competitions. The energy was vibrant as dancers from each department took center stage, showcasing their unique styles and moves.

The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management sent shockwaves through the crowd with their incredible talent. Covie Jae Salamatin ignited the stage with his mesmerizing HAUTAW performance, while the dynamic dance crew, PINK$, set the dance floor ablaze with their electrifying BDC routine.

PINK$’s BDC performance, 'Sabel,' artistically depicted the West Philippine Sea's struggle against Chinese aggression. Through powerful dance, Sabel, symbolizing the sea, fought back, mirroring Filipino resilience. The 'bahaghari' emerged as a beacon of hope.

It’s beyond a doubt that the Angelite Community is a force to be reckoned with, excelling not only in academics but also in the vibrant world of stage performances.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | The second day of University Days 2025 was filled with excitement as the Battle of the Bands took place at HAU Piazza.

The event featured bands from different departments, each bringing their own style to the stage.

Representing the SHTM is the Pink Panorama, which hyped the piazza and made Angelite jump in the crowd. Rainiel Sanchez, Simon Fraser, Daniel Siogco, Miguel De Vera, Angela Roma, and Angelica Legaspi are the representative for this event.

With lively performances and great energy, the bands gave their best to entertain the crowd making the audience cheered loudly for their favorites.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | Mr. and Ms. HAU ‘25 start off pre-pageant night at HAU Piazza yesterday, Jan 22

The preliminary competition of the Mr. and Ms. HAU 2025 commences with the introduction of each candidate from various isla’s followed by their individual stands on the issues on the West Philippine Sea.

The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management was represented By Mr. Paul Angelo Tulabut and Ms. Mica Ella Nagayo, who will reach the shore of this year's crown.

Candidates also competed for their advocacies, cape wear, and the most awaited creative wear.

With this year’s theme "𝘼𝙂𝙊𝙎: 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙜 𝙉𝙜 𝙈𝙜𝙖 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙖𝙜,” candidates from each department highlights the importance of West Philippine Sea and the country’s sovereignty.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | SHTM proudly presents their department in the Holy Angel University Days 2025 parade embodying the theme "𝘼𝙂𝙊𝙎: 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙜 𝙉𝙜 𝙈𝙜𝙖 𝙏𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙖𝙜,”

They SHTM department gracefully took their pride as the event commenced with a parade in their boat-shaped floats navigating through the HAU Boulevard. The peacocks and peahens showed enthusiastic spirits in supporting the street dance representatives together with Mr. and Ms. HAU contestants.

The SHTM Peahen mascot elegantly displayed their breathtaking beauty by dancing in the parade, proving the crowd that they truly were the pearl of the sea. The street dance competition also showed tenacity, as they exhibit the Karanowan Fish-tival in Camarines Sur portraying the celebration and the natural resources of the town.

The Plaza Chapel is alive with excitement as the Sabaybayin Mass Dance Competition is officially underway at Holy Angel University.

Our talented teams from Isla ng SHTM, Isla ng SBA, Isla ng BED, and Isla ng SOC are bringing their best moves to the stage, along with the theme of “Agos: Paglayag ng mga Tanyag.”

The energy is electric as each island battles it out, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and school pride in a dance-off like no other.

Prelims is officially a distant memory, thank goodness! We chatted with some fellow SHTM students about surviving the past few weeks, and let's just say, there were some serious survival stories shared. From all-nighters fueled by caffeine and sheer willpower to the unexpected joys of finding study buddies, we heard it all.

Now that the prelim has passed, we're all looking forward to a much-needed break and, of course, the most anticipated University Days 2025! We asked our fellow students what they're most excited about – think epic concerts, maybe a food fest, and hopefully, some serious chill time with friends.
