Negros Occidental, also known as Occidental Negros or Western Negros, is a province located in the region of Western Visayas. Its capital is Bacolod. It is the fourth most populated province in the Philippines. It is known for its chicken inasal and its sugar industry, hence nicknamed as the sugar bowl of the Philippines.
The climate in this province has a tropical climate. Rainfall is significant most months of the year, and the short dry season has little effect.
Best time to visit is in October. During this time the province’s capital, Bacolod City, celebrates the Masskara Festival. Expect a lot of street dancing and parties. April also boosts the province’s tourism as it holds the Panaad sa Negros Festival.
