Pursuant to the Philippine Government’s efforts to streamline its entry procedures and data collection processes, we inform you of the launch of the eTravel platform, an online registration system for travelers to the Philippines and returning residents.

Beginning 0001H of 02 December 2022, the Health Declaration Checklist of the Department of Health-Bureau of Quarantine may be accessed through etravel.gov.ph.

Passengers using the former www.onehealthpass.com.ph will be redirected to the new eTravel domain. On December 5, the old domain of the One Health Pass will no longer be accessible to the public.

The eTravel platform will host the electronic version of the paper Arrival Card that travelers must submit upon arrival in the Philippines for immigration clearance. Starting 05 December 2022, the Bureau of Immigration will discontinue using the paper Arrival Card. All travelers will be required to provide their arrival information and health declaration through the eTravel portal.

Registration on the eTravel platform is free. The public is warned against transacting with any entities or websites soliciting payments and fees of any kind as these are in no way related to the official eTravel platform of the Philippine Government.

The eTravel platform is a joint initiative of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in partnership with the Bureau of Immigration (BI), Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ), Bureau of Customs (BOC), Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Justice (DOJ), and Department of Transportation (DOTr).

October 30, 2022, Pasay City – Flight operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is expected to return to normal as Severe Tropical Storm Paeng exits the Philippines today.

The Manila International Airport Authority yesterday closed its runway facilities beginning 4PM due to gustiness of the wind hovering around the aerodrome posing great risks to flight safety. The first flight to land after it opened at 10PM was Oman Air flight WY843 from Muscat.

Several local and international flights were disrupted as airline operators employed planned cancellations to save passengers from the trouble of getting to NAIA with streets in Metro Manila and nearby provinces being under flood water.

A total of 295 flights out of the 618 scheduled flights for October 29 were cancelled affecting a total of 43, 151 passengers as a result. Airline operators were quick to offer rebooking to those who found their way early to the airport while others were encouraged to self-manage their bookings online. A few passengers however opted to stay inside the Terminals and were served malasakit kits and food by both MIAA and the airlines. Local carrier Cebu Pacific offered free shuttle to Baclaran, Magallanes, MOA, and Pasay rotunda further reducing number of stranded passengers in NAIA Terminal 3.

Several diverted flights on the other hand, have started to arrive after NAIA runways opened at 10PM last night. Delayed flights from yesterday on the other hand, have been re-timed to depart or arrive today after airlines submitted their proposed re-timings to MIAA and the CAAP.

As of this writing, passengers of disrupted flights have started to proceed to the airport. The MIAA operations teams are working closely with airline agents to expedite processing of passengers.

Outside the Terminals, the MIAA engineering and maintenance personnel cleared NAIA roads of fallen trees and no damage to vehicles of injuries to persons was reported. Traffic along main roads leading to the four NAIA Terminals was monitored to be manageable.

The MIAA Management thanks its dedicated workforce, airline operators, ground handlers and partner agencies for their support in ensuring that the impact of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng to NAIA’s operations was properly mitigated given the challenging conditions yesterday.

Paeng Advisory No. 3
29 October 2022 as of 06:30 PM

Manila Airport closed temporarily as Tropical Storm Paeng ("Nalgae") approaches

To protect the safety of the traveling public, the aviation authorities have temporarily closed down Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA – “MNL”) until 6 PM today, on account of weather conditions caused by the passage of Tropical Storm PAENG (international name “NALGAE”).

Accordingly, we are putting on hold all departures from Manila, and all departures from other airports, until after 6 PM. Several flights en route to Manila are being diverted to land in other airports until the Manila airport reopens.

We will provide more details once finalized. It is possible that the closure time may be extended beyond 6 PM, and if so we will make the necessary urgent adjustments to our flights to and from Manila, which may include cancellations or delays.

In the meantime, we have CANCELLED the following flights:

ATTENTION - THIS IS A DEVELOPING SITUATION; FURTHER CHANGES EXPECTED.

We will continue to cooperate closely with the aviation and airport authorities and keep a close watch on hour-by-hour weather forecasts for affected airports in the Philippines.

Our paramount concern is the safety of our passengers, personnel and aircraft at all times, and we will make the necessary adjustments to ensure safe travels and comply with any safety-related restrictions.

If you are traveling on a flight to/from Metro Manila, Clark or one of the affected areas on October 29 or 30, we recommend that you check the status of your flight before proceeding to the airport. Please visit https://www.philippineairlines.com/en/flight-status and click the “Flight Status” icon on the main page, and then fill in the flight number (without the “PR” or “2P” designation, just the number itself) and date of departure to check the latest update.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: A flight’s status is updated in real-time, and there is no need to call the PAL contact center to verify the information. We encourage you to continue monitoring the status of your flight using the Flight Status self-service tool on our website so that we can keep our contact center hotlines free of congestion.

Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation.
