Today we celebrate the life our Grandparents "Munang" Joseph Kitma Sr. (March 19, 1921-March 29, 1991) and "Dakmi" Julita Calatan Kitma (April 7, 1922 - March 27, 2002). They are the foundation of the Avong. Our grandfather was a quiet man opposite our grandmother. They both died on a Good Friday. There is a superstition that if you die on this special day you go straight to heaven. They are our angels looking over their growing family.
In the years to come, we may not remember many of the words our grandparents spoke, But the memories of what they conveyed without speaking a word will stay in our hearts.
