During a recent inspection by Camp John Hay patrol guards, it was discovered that the entire RED TRAIL and a portion of the BLUE TRAIL had been transformed into makeshift race tracks. Colored ribbons were attached to tree branches and trunks using gun tackers and thumbtacks, causing damage to the trees. Additionally, excavations were found at various humps and turns along the track.

These modifications were made without the permission of the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) and are considered unauthorized. Consequently, the Camp John Hay trails will be TEMPORARILY CLOSED to allow JHMC to conduct a comprehensive assessment and determine how to restore the affected areas.

HALF-DAY WORK IN THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF BAGUIO ON DEC. 29
Work in the City Government of Baguio on 29 December 2023 is suspended at 12:00 noon onwards to give city employees more time to enjoy the company of their loved ones, and to prepare for year-end traditions.

However, to ensure the continuity of vital services to the public and to take necessary preemptive and disaster mitigating measures and safety of constituents, the City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office, General Services Office, City Engineering Office, City Buildings and Architecture Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Veterinary and Agriculture Office, City Environment and Parks Management Office, Health Services Office, and Public Order and Safety Division, CCTV and emergency 911 operations, social services, sanitation, health, and revenue collection (including field work), along with drivers who are required to provide transportation to these offices, shall continue to report for work to maintain necessary workforce adequate to effectively carry out their duties, as determined by the concerned department head.
