✨I am absolutely thrilled to share the incredible news of my mother, Maria Catbagan Aplaten, being appointed as the new Regional Director of DSWD-CAR!
As I reflect on her journey, I am in awe of the incredible woman she is. Throughout her life, she has embodied strength, compassion, and resilience, touching the lives of countless individuals through her various roles.
As a woman, my mother embodies strength, grace, and resilience. Awarded as one of the Outstanding Women Leaders of Baguio, she has overcome challenges with determination, serving as an inspiration to all who know her.
As a leader, she has always led by example, inspiring those around her with her dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to serving others. Her leadership style is characterized by inclusivity, empathy, and a tireless pursuit of excellence.
As an educator all her life, she has touched the lives of countless students, instilling in them not just knowledge but also values of compassion, empathy, and lifelong learning. Serving as resource speaker, teacher and trainer in numerous aspects, her dedication to education has shaped the minds and hearts of current and future generations.
As a social worker, she has been a tireless advocate for the marginalized and underserved, working tirelessly to uplift their voices and improve their quality of life. Recently awarded the Regional Volunteer Award, her compassion and empathy know no bounds, and she continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need.
As a cultural worker, she has celebrated and preserved the rich cultural heritage of our community, promoting understanding, appreciation, and unity among diverse groups. Founding the Hapiyoh’ Mi Culture and Arts Center, her efforts have fostered a sense of belonging and pride in our shared heritage.
And as a mother, she has been our rock, our guiding light, and our greatest supporter. Her love, sacrifice, and unwavering belief in us has been the driving force behind our own success and happiness.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for playing a vital role in making my mother's appointment as director possible. Your unwavering support, dedication, and belief in her capabilities have been instrumental in achieving this milestone.
Each one of you has contributed in your unique way, whether it was through providing valuable advice, opportunities, or simply being a source of encouragement during challenging times. Your collective efforts have paved the way for my mother to excel in her new role.
