ANNOUNCEMENT

Thank you to everyone who registered for the Photography Contest as part of Baler Tourism Month 2024!

Please be informed that the registration is now OFFICIALLY CLOSED, as we have reached the full capacity for participants. Your enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase the beauty of Baler through your lenses is truly inspiring, and we cannot wait to see the stunning photographs you will capture!

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept any more registrations at this time due to the overwhelming response. Stay tuned for more updates on the contest, including important details for participants and the dates for the judging and exhibition of entries.

Thank you once again for your support, and let’s make Baler shine even brighter this Tourism Month!

MECHANICS:

1. PARTICIPANTS
- This contest is open to everyone 16 years old and above.
- Jpeg and PNG format only
- Allotted slots, Eighteen(18)

2. Category: Street photography (Baler)
3. Entry Requirements:
- Participants must submit their entries in digital format.
- Each participant can submit only one (1) photograph.
- Entries should be original works of the participants
- To register click the link: (ALREADY FULL)

- The registration will start on Sept 9 to 13, 2024
- Submission of the photo will start on Sept 14 to 19, 2024
- Reasons for Disqualification:
- Plagiarism, failure to adhere to guidelines, or late submissions.
4. The judging of entries will start on September 20
5. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
- 50% Creativity and Originality
- 20 % Adherence to the category
- 15 % Composition and Framing
- 15 % Visual Impact and storytelling
- 100% TOTAL

6. The system of scoring will be averaging. The score of each judge shall be converted to ranks, The highest score shall be ranked 1. The judge and tabulation committee shall be solely responsible for the computation and safekeeping of the scores.

7. The winners will receive the following prize:
P5,000 First Place with Certificate
P3,000 Second Place with Certificate
P2,000 Third Place with Certificate
P500 Consolation with Certificate

8. The submitted photo will become properties of the Local Government Unit of Baler – Tourism Office, and their work will be showcased and will be used to promote the tourism of Baler, Aurora.

9. Winners will be announced on September 21, 2024 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Municipal Conference Room.

𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗛𝗨𝗟𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗪 𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗚𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡𝗜!

Gugunitain ang Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani (National Heroes Day) ngayong araw, 26 Agosto 2024, sa Libingan ng mga Bayani sa Lungsod ng Taguig. Ang tema ngayong taon ay "Kabayanihan ng Pilipino sa Panahon ng Pagbabago."

Pangungunahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ang seremonya ng pagtataas ng watawat at pag-aalay ng bulaklak sa Puntod ng Di-Kilalang Sundalo (Tomb of the Unknown Soldier). Sasamahan siya ng mga opisyal at kawani mula sa pambansa at lokal na tanggapan.

Nagsimulang gunitain ang mga bayaning Pilipino noong 1898 nang gawing pista opisyal ni Pangulong Emilio Aguinaldo ang 30 Disyembre upang maging araw ng pagluluksa para kay Jose Rizal at sa mga makabayang Pilipino na namatay sa pakikibaka laban sa mga Espanyol. Itinuring din bilang araw para sa mga bayani ang anibersaryo ng kapanganakan ni Andres Bonifacio nang maging pista opisyal ito sa bisa ng Batas Blg. 2946 (16 Pebrero 1921).

Nagkaroon lamang ng hiwalay na Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani sa bisa ng Batas Blg. 3827 (28 Oktubre 1931). Inilagay ito sa huling Linggo ng Agosto, tila upang masaklaw ang Unang Sigaw at Unang Labanan ng Himagsikan sa dulo ng Agosto 1896.

Gayunman, ipinagpatuloy ang paggunita ng Araw ng mga Bayani sa Nobyembre hanggang 1952, nang isang lupon para rito ang nilikha sa pamamagitan ng Kautusang Administratibo Blg. 190 (11 Agosto 1952). Sa bisa ng Batas ng Republika Blg. 9492 (24 Hulyo 2007), inilipat sa huling Lunes ng Agosto ang paggunita.

Ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Kasaysayan na nilikha ng Proklamasyon Blg. 339 (16 Pebrero 2012) ay nakaangkla sa paggunita ng Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani.

Ang Begonia akaw ay nadiskubre sa Aurora Memorial National Park. Ang salitang “akaw” ay salitang Tagalog at partikular na ginagamit ng mga taga-Baler, Aurora upang ipahayag ang pagkagulat o pagkamangha. Ang species na ito ay endemic o sa Pilipinas lamang matatagpuan.
