During a recent GCash webinar on the future of digital financial services, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Felipe M. Medalla said the central bank is working with relevant national government agencies and local government units to expand the digitalization of payments.

In line with this, the BSP recently launched the Paleng-QR Ph program with the Department of the Interior and Local Government. Paleng-QR enables consumers to pay using a QR code in public markets and transportation hubs. LEARN MORE: https://bit.ly/AboutPalengQRPh

The BSP is also working with the Department of Transportation in developing a nationwide interoperable Automated Fare Collection System, and with the Bureau of Internal Revenue in developing e-invoicing.

As co-chair of a public-private working group with the Department of Trade and Industry, the BSP is operationalizing the E-Commerce Roadmap 2020-2022.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) welcomes the passage of Republic Act No. 11901, also known as “The Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development Financing Enhancement Act of 2022,” or the new Agri-Agra and Rural Financing Law.

This law features:
✅ a comprehensive financing framework for the development of the agriculture and fisheries sector and rural communities;
✅ broadened activities for agricultural credit and rural development financing to include agri-tourism; digitalization of agricultural activities; public rural infrastructure; promoting health and wellness of rural communities; and improving livelihood skills; and
✅ financing toward environmental, social, and governance projects, including green projects that support sustainable and inclusive economic growth.

It’s normal for folks in mega cities to travel for 4 hours a day to work, and it’s arguably the saddest reminder of how our taxes are spent.
Remember that a) the amount of energy you put into your work and b) the good mood you bring to your loved ones at home is inversely proportional to the amount of stress you absorb along the road. Enough said, long commutes destroy happiness.

People who have better jobs or bigger houses but live far away from work are less happy than those who enjoy shorter commutes.
