Lagayan's "Laga Festival" represented the province of Abra in the recently concluded CORDILLERA FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS held in Baguio City. "Laga" the local term of weaving is a major industry of Lagayan and the province as a whole, where the bamboo plant is abundant.

In behalf of the Tourism Office and PGA headed by Gov. Dominic Valera, we thank the Laga Dancers and Lagayan LGU headed by Mayor Edmarc Crisologo for showcasing Abrenian culture to a wider audience.

LAGA FESTIVAL OF LAGAYAN, ABRA

The Laga Festival is a celebration of the town's abundance of bamboos as well as their products that were made from it. Held every second week of March, the Laga Festival is relatively new compared to the other festivals of Abra but has since grown in popularity, thanks to the various activities that are part of the celebration in which the culture of the Ilocanos and the Tingguians are highlighted through songs,dances and their unique bamboo products. It is also a microcosm of the larger Abrenian Kawayan Festival.

Witness and experience the Laga Festival on October 15, 2022 at Baguio City as Abra's representative for the highly anticipated "Festival of Festivals" of the Cordilleras.
