No segregation, no collection policy ng basura sa lungsod, mahigpit na ipatutupad

Magsisimula na sa September 1 ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng no segregation, no collection policy ng mga basura sa lungsod.

Ito ay ayon sa direktiba ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Bunsod nito, kaagad na kumilos ang Batangas City Solid Waste Management Board katuwang ang KaBRAD Cluster Coordinators para sa striktong implementasyon nito.

Layunin ng nasabing polisiya na muling paigtingin ang pagpapatupad ng Republic Act 9003 o Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 upang maisulong ang makakalikasang pangangasiwa ng basura alinsunod sa Batangas City Environment Code.

Malaki ang maitutulong nito upang mabawasan ang problema sa basura na nakakaapekto sa climate change na nagdudulot ng mga kalamidad.

Hinihikayat ang mga barangay na maglagay ng mga garbage bin na gagamitin sa waste segregation para sa mga recyclable o mga basurang maaari pang pakinabangan, biodegradable o nabubulok at para sa residual.

Isa rin sa pinagtuunan ng pansin ay ang pagkakaroon ng Materials Recovery Facility o MRF sa bawat barangay upang pagdalhan ng mga plastic at iba pang recyclables at compost pit para sa mga basurang nabubulok.

Inaasahan na sa pamamagitan ng striktong implementasyon ng nasabing polisiya ay higit na maisusulong ang pagkakaroon ng kaaya-ayang kapaligiran at magiging bahagi na ng pamumuhay ng bawat isang Batangueno ang tamang pagbubukod bukod o pamamahala ng basura.

Nagsimula ang dry-run ng no segregation, no collection policy noong August 20.

Mahigpit na ipinagbabawal ang paglalabas ng basura sa hindi itinakdang araw at oras.

Magbabayad ng P500.00 hanggang P1,500.00 na multa at pagkakulong ng hindi bababa sa anim na buwan ang mga hindi susuunod habang papatawan naman ng P 1,500-P 5000 ang mga establisyimento na mapapatunayang lalabag o kanselasyon ng lisensya o pagkasara.
