Things to Do in Bauan #2: Go to church and say a little prayer.
The Immaculate Conception Parish, also known as Bauan Church, is one of the centuries-old Catholic churches in Batangas. The present structure, located in Kapitan Ponso Street, Poblacion, was completed in 1894 and is of Neo-classical architectural style.
The church is home to the Holy Cross of Bauan, which is half of the legendary cross found in 1595 in a place called Dingin near Alitagtag, formerly part of Bauan. When Alitagtag became a town in 1910, it was given the other half of the cross - known as the Holy Cross of Alitagtag. There are numerous miracles attributed to the cross which you can read more about online.
