BATOG conducts 5th Local Guide Training; celebrates Community Tour Guides

As a part of its celebration of the National Tour Guides' Day, the Bolinao Association of Tour Guides (BATOG) in partnership with the Local Government of Bolinao conducted a New Tour Guide Training (NTGT) for TODA members on June 26, 2023 at the Conference Room, Bolinao Tourism Office.

Ms. Ann Lee Aguila, BATOG President and the Lead Convenor of the Orientation Training, discussed the introduction to Tour Guiding as well as valuable information about the Association. Ms. Alysa De Perio, a tenured Local Guide of BATOG discussed Customer Service while Mr. Keyzer Balawat, BATOG Treasurer tackled financial matters such as membership and annual fees, and tour shares.

In addition, Bolinao Tourism Officer Ms. Mary de Guzman, conducted a Tourism Orientation and highlighted the important role of tour guides in the Municipality.

BATOG takes pride in its passion to train and help locals to become better tour guides and ambassadors of tourism. The TODA members specifically from Barangays Tupa, Patar, and Ilog-Malino are already the fifth (5th) Batch to undergo NTGT. Graduates of the said training will be endorsed by the Association for DOT Training and other enhancement seminars.

Lazo graces BIS SHS Summit; inspires young learners

Charmaine D. Lazo, the Bolinao Association of Tour Guides (BATOG) Secretary, served as a speaker during the Bolinao Integrated School - Senior High School (BIS SHS) Summit on June 26, 2023. The BATOG Tour Guide received a warm welcome from her alma mater as she talks about her knowledge and experiences related to tourism and tour guiding. Through her talk, the SHS students gained not only valuable information but also inspiration to hone their skills and abilities that would help them in the near future.

Lazo recently graduated Magna Cum Laude with the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management and is a part of the 2nd Batch of Local Tour Guides trained on Community Guiding by the Department of Tourism - Regional Office 1 (DOT-R1) in the year 2020.

We recognize and offer our greatest respect to our tour guides from the Pangasinan Tour Guides Association, Bolinao Association of Tour Guides,Hundred Islands Tour Guides Associations HITGA, and other local associations of tour guides in the Province of Pangasinan. BATOG participates in DOLE Labor Day Activity for WIS

May 26, 2023- The Bolinao Association of Tour Guides (BATOG) led by Ms. Ann Lee Aguila ably represented by Mr. Edgardo Caasi along with two other tour guides, participated in the Learning Session conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment -Western Pangasinan Field Office as a part of the Labor Day Celebration for Workers in the Informal Sector (WIS).

Said activity focused on relevant topics such as Social Welfare benefits, Business Permits and Licensing, and Personality Development. It was held at the Tourism Function Hall, Lucap Wharf, Alaminos City.

Other Non-government Associations (NGA) from Bolinao were also present in the said activity.

De Perio completes Birdwatching Eco-Guides Training; lands in Top 5 Best Tour Guide Pool

Ms. Alysa De Perio, an Accredited Tour Guide under the Bolinao Association of Tour Guides (BATOG) finished the Birdwatching Eco-Guides Training with flying colors as she was able to clinch a spot in the Top 5 Best Tour Guides during the training.

Said event was a 5-day specialized training for Birdwatching organized by the Department of Tourism - Regional Office 1 which convened the best of the best tour guides and Ecotourism experts in the Province from April 15-19, in Bani, Pangasinan.

3 BATOG Guides complete DOT Specialized Bike Training

Bolinao Association of Tour Guides (BATOG) members Ryan Caasi, Romnick Conde, and Dioly Fronda completed the 7-day Specialized Training for Bike Guides organized by the Department of Tourism - Region 1 (DOT-R1) from January 30 to February 5 of this year.

Said community guides will be eligible for DOT Accreditation, adding to the increasing number of accredited tour guides under BATOG.
