Let's take a peek on the "controversial river" that gained attention which is most properly called "Masla-Sumadel River". Please correct if wrong.

The map shows the river line (blue) from Gao to Sumadel Bridge. Basically, the trail starts from Barangay Masla (Hoyohoy) going down to Gao Falls. Then climb up to Sumadel Bridge. Or you can start from Barangay Sumadel going down the river.

Explanation from Mr. Apioten:

The title of the activity or adventure is HOYOHOY RIVER TRACING.

It is not the location of the river per se or the falls or other scenery that were featured nan maibagbaga. The river is located in masubadu, sulumaside or zone 2 of tadian, mountain province. Sapay koma ta maawatan d amin!"

The event was called Hoyohoy River Tracing Adventure which means "River Tracing Adventure by Hoyohoy volunteers" and doesn't mean that the river is owned by or in Hoyohoy. Hope this would clear up some speculations.
