Affected flights due to runway closure in Cebu

October 24, 2022, 3:00AM

Cebu Pacific has cancelled flights to and from Cebu after a disabled aircraft of an international airline has closed the runway.

As a result of the runway closure, CEB has cancelled the following flights:

Affected passengers have been informed and provided with the following options:

1. Free Rebooking

Rebook without fare difference for travel up to thirty (30) days from original flight date. The fare difference will apply if travel period is beyond thirty (30) days from the original flight date.

2. Travel Fund

Store the amount in a virtual CEB wallet valid for six (6) months and use this to either book a new flight or pay for add-ons (example: baggage allowance, seat selection, etc.)

3. Refund

The process may take up to two (2) months from the date of request.

We urge passengers travelling to and from Cebu to only proceed to the airport if they have confirmed flights. For those who wish to voluntarily postpone their flights, they may avail of Cebu Pacific's flexible options which include free rebooking and travel fund.

Cebu Pacific is currently engaging with the authorities and will provide updates as necessary.

The runway at Mactan Cebu airport (CEB) is closed due to a disabled aircraft of a foreign airline that is obstructing the runway after a landing incident which occurred late Sunday evening.

Travel Advisory for Passengers Entering the Philippines
Updated as of May 27, 2022 ; 7PM

Effective May 30, 2022 fully vaccinated and boostered Filipinos and foreign nationals are no longer required to present a negative RT-PCR or Antigen test rest upon arrival in the Philippines.

Based on IATF-approved Resolution 168, visitors must be at least 18 years old and must have received the primary series of Covid-19 vaccines and at least one booster shot.

Exempted from the pre-departure RT-PCR requirement are Filipinos and foreign nationals aged 12 to 17 who have received their primary Covid-19 vaccine/s that are included in the Emergency use Authorization (EUA) List or Compassionate Special Permit (CSP) issued by the Philippine Food and Drug Administration; or Emergency Use Listing of WHO. Children aged below 12 and traveling with fully vaccinated or boostered parents or guardians are also exempted from the requirement.

All types of vaccination certificates, regardless of country of origin, will also be accepted. One Health Pass is still required for all arriving passengers.
