The Tunisia-Algeria tour kicked off with an unforgettable day! The clients started with a visit to Tipaza, exploring the stunning Roman ruins along the Mediterranean and North Africa’s largest basilica. After a delicious seafood lunch in Tipaza, they continued to Cherchell, where two archaeology museums offered a look into Roman antiquities. The day concluded with a stop at the unique Tomb de le Christian before heading back to Algiers. A day rich in history and culture! 💙

Continuing the sacred journey, our explore the depths of faith at the Holy Sepulchre, reflect on the Last Supper Room's poignant moments, and stand in reverence at St. Peter in Gallicantu. We also visit the tranquil Saint Mary's Well and the inspiring Church of the Visitation, each site a testament to the rich tapestry of history and spirituality.

𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙮 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙪𝙡𝙘𝙝𝙧𝙚

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre is one of the most sacred and unique places in Christianity. The church, located in the Christian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City, houses two of Christianity's holiest sites: Calvary, the location where Jesus was crucified, and the tomb where Jesus was buried and eventually resurrected. The Aedicula, or shrine, now surrounds the burial.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙢

The Last Supper Room, located above King David's Tomb on Mount Zion, is regarded as one of Christianity's holiest sites because it is where Jesus held his Last Supper, according to Christian belief. The site is recognized in the Catholic Christian world as "Cenaculum" (or The Cenacle), derived from the Latin dining chamber, a recollection of the Passover supper Jesus ate with his disciples on the eve of his death before being apprehended and tried.

𝙎𝙩. 𝙋𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙂𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙪

The church is thought to have been built on the location of High Priest Caiaphas' residence. This is where Jesus was imprisoned on the night of his betrayal, and where Peter denied knowing him three times before the rooster crowed twice ("Gallicantu" means "cock's crow" in Latin).

The church was built in 1931 by the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land, on the ruins of an earlier Byzantine church. The architectural style of the church is a mix of Gothic and Romanesque styles.

𝙎𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮'𝙨 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡

Saint Mary's Well, also known as the Fountain of the Virgin, is located near the "Church of the Annunciation." The spring is somewhat to the north of the church and flows past the altar on the left side. There is an aperture here, and Greek pilgrims dip their eyes and heads into the hallowed water. This conduit transports water to St. Mary's Well. It is highly likely that the child Jesus and his mother frequently came here to get water. An arch is built above it, with steps leading down to the tank and trough.

𝙁𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣

The Franciscan Church of the Visitation is located in Ein Karem, an attractive town on Jerusalem's west side. The church stands on the site of John the Baptist's parents' summer residence, where the Virgin Mary is thought to have visited his mother, Elizabeth (Luke 1:39-56). It was here when Mary performed one of the most famous Marian songs, Magnificat. The church is built against a steep hillside, with an entrance thought to be where Elizabeth and her infant son John hid when Herod ordered the killing of all male children under the age of two.
