Despite a busy day of meetings in Catbalogan City, Vice Mayor Rex made a dedicated effort to attend the "Gab-i san Pasasalamat" at the Red Iron Hotel. Arriving late in the evening, he came specifically to thank the Tourism Office employees for their hard work, not only during Tourism Week but also for the many events that have showcased Calbayog.

His presence, even at a late hour, was a testament to his appreciation for the team’s tireless efforts in making the city’s events successful year-round and promoting Calbayog’s tourism.

Senior High School students from Brgy. Tarabucan, Mag-ubay, and 7 Hills areas recently paid a visit to Vice Mayor Rex in his office, bringing with them a palpable sense of excitement and curiosity. Observing this significant moment, one could see the deep connection between the Vice Mayor and the youth of Calbayog. Vice Mayor Rex, with his passion for the city clearly evident, addressed the students not just as a leader but as a fellow Calbayognon with a deep understanding of the land’s untapped potential.

“Before you set out into the world, I want you to first experience the beauty of your own home,” he told them with pride. “Go beyond seeing yourselves as students—become ambassadors of our culture, heritage, and history. Let the hills, the falls, and the spirit of Calbayog inspire your path.”

The local government’s role in making this immersion possible highlighted its commitment to youth empowerment and cultural preservation. This was no ordinary school trip; it was a powerful invitation for these young minds to take on the responsibility of becoming guardians of Calbayog’s legacy. As they prepared to embark on their journey to explore the city’s iconic tourism sites, there was an undeniable sense of pride and purpose—these students were not just observers, but future stewards of Calbayog’s rich heritage.
