List of Documents the Immigration Officer (IO) May Require:

1.) ✅ Ensure your documents are ready:

• Valid passport (with at least six months validity upon departure)
• Round trip ticket and boarding pass
• E-Travel Declaration (from etravel.gov.ph)
• Hotel booking confirmation and receipts for DIY tourists
• Travel agency booking/agreement and itinerary for tour group members

Answer IO questions about your itinerary confidently.

• DSWD Travel Clearance for minors not with parents
• Duly authenticated Marriage Certificate for couples
• Duly authenticated Birth Certificate for children
• Travel Authority for government employees
• Certificate of Employment and Leave of Absence for private employees
• Business Permit/DTI Permit if income is from a business
• Work Contract and OEC from POEA for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW)
• Visa if traveling to a country requiring one

2.) ✅ Emphasize the importance of the interview:

It can significantly impact your departure.

• Provide consistent, clear, and confident answers.
• Respond respectfully and confidently; listen carefully without interruption.

3.) ✅ Stress the significance of modest dressing:

Choose clothes reflecting a respectable traveler image, especially for first-time travelers and women.

• Avoid overly revealing attire to prevent negative assumptions.

4.) ✅ Highlight IO scrutiny for solo travelers:

Solo travelers, especially young, single females or recent graduates, should be well-prepared with necessary documents.

• IOs pay close attention to solo female travelers due to human trafficking concerns.

5.) ✅ Acknowledge IOs' profiling skills:

IOs observe passengers' body language, even while waiting in line.

6.) ✅ Discuss financial capacity assessment:

IOs may check your ability to fund the trip, particularly if unemployed or in non-permanent employment.

• Provide proof of funding or a notarized Affidavit of Support and Guarantee if sponsored.

7.) ✅ Emphasize knowing your sponsor:

Be well-versed in your sponsor's details, including names and addresses.

8.) ✅ Stress awareness of travel history:

IOs may inquire about past travels recorded in their files; honesty is crucial.

9.) ✅ Address previous offloading:

Handle questions about past offloading experiences, explaining any changes since then.

10.) ✅ Reinforce the importance of attitude:

Maintain a polite demeanor during the conversation; avoid arguments with the Immigration Officer.
