Last May 23, 2025, the Committee Heads together with their adviser of the 8th Visayas Junior Tourism and Hospitality Congress (VJTHC) took a meaningful step beyond the event halls—bringing the spirit of compassion and service directly to the Children's Shelter of Cebu (CSC), the official beneficiary of this year’s congress.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, partners, and participants, the proceeds from VJTHC were used to provide essential goods and heartfelt aid to the children under CSC’s care.

We were warmly welcomed by Ms. Eunice, CSC’s dedicated coordinator, who shared with us the inspiring history of the organization along with the roles and responsibilities that keep the facility running with so much love and purpose.

The visit included a full tour of CSC’s facilities, where we witnessed firsthand the impact of kindness, structure, and support in shaping brighter futures for the children. It was a truly humbling and eye-opening experience—reminding us all that hospitality begins with humanity.

To our sponsors and everyone who made this outreach possible: thank you. Your generosity continues to inspire and make lasting change. 💖

We, at Siklab Productions—the proud organizers of the 8th Visayas Junior Tourism and Hospitality Congress (VJTHC)—extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Tourism and Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco for her inspiring presence and unwavering support for the youth of the tourism industry.

We were truly honored to welcome Secretary Frasco as our keynote speaker, whose message not only enlightened us on the vital role of tourism in national development but also ignited a renewed sense of pride in our heritage as Bisaya. Her spirited dialogue with students on gastronomy, culture, and Cebu’s global appeal reminded us that we, the youth, are the future trailblazers of the Philippine tourism industry.

We also thank the DOT for its steadfast support of student initiatives—especially the extension of the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) training to tourism students and continuous involvement in academic and youth-led tourism activities. Her announcement of programs like the Tourism Startup Competition and the upcoming UN Tourism Academy in Cebu reflects a deep commitment to empowering young innovators and building a skilled, world-class tourism workforce.

Secretary Frasco’s words filled us with optimism and purpose: to be proud of our identity, to champion local culture, and to carry the torch of Philippine tourism with excellence and heart. The future of our industry is indeed bright—with leadership that believes in us and a nation rich in culture, beauty, and hospitality.

Thank you, Secretary Frasco, for inspiring the next generation and for your invaluable contributions to uplifting Philippine tourism.

To him, the kitchen is not just a place to work—it’s a creative haven where discipline fuels innovation, and every dish tells a story of commitment. Chefs, he shared, are more than just culinary experts—they are mentors, storytellers, and leaders who inspire and elevate those around them.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗵𝘆𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗸𝘂𝗿𝗶 | Rushyanth Reddy Katukuri highlighted both the challenges and exciting prospects of weaving Halal principles into the fabric of Philippine gastronomy.

He spoke on how embracing Halal goes beyond meeting dietary needs—it’s about cultural respect, ethical practices, and aligning with global culinary standards. More than just a set of food rules, Halal—anchored in the teachings of the Quran and Hadith—represents a holistic lifestyle rooted in purity, mindfulness, and integrity.

By integrating Halal into the local food scene, the Philippines opens doors to greater inclusivity and global recognition, enriching both its culinary identity and tourism potential.
