On the ninth day of March 2016, Romer Labs conducted a technical seminar about pathogens and allergens at the Pinnacle Hotel and Suites, Davao City. This was the second annual Romer Asia Focus seminar in the Philippines. The first annual Romer Asia Focus seminar was conducted last July 3, 2015 at General Santos City. Generally, Romer Asia Focus Annual Seminars aim to provide updates and regulations concerning food safety to the different food manufacturing industries.
For this second annual seminar, representatives from different food industries processing banana chips, coconut products, dried fruits, fresh fruits/vegetables and fresh/frozen marine products were gathered. The said seminar was jointly organized by Romer Labs Singapore, AMCIVET Animal Nutrition, Inc. and HORECA PLUS Distribution Corporation. Prior to this seminar, small group discussions were also done throughout the country to promote food safety.
Two speakers namely Liau Yong Wee and Daniel Tan, both from Romer Labs Singapore shared their expertise on the field of food safety. Liau Yong Wee, Romer Labs Managing Director in Asia Pacific, discussed the updates and regulatory trends in U.S. and E.U for pathogens and allergens. Meanwhile, Daniel Tan, Romer Labs Sales Manager for Southeast Asia Region, demonstrated the importance of rapid check solutions for testing pathogens and allergens.
