The World Travel Awards named Cebu as Asia’s Leading Wedding Destination for 2024 during the World Travel Awards Asia and Oceania Gala Ceremony held in the City of Dreams in Pasay City on September 3, 2024.

Cebu's recent award solidifies its reputation as a top choice for romantic getaways, offering picturesque islands, beautiful beaches, and historic churches perfect for weddings and honeymoons.

Vice-Governor Hilario Davide III and Board Member Red Duterte accepted the award on behalf of Governor Gwen Garcia and the Province of Cebu.

Taking the lead in Asia, the Philippines won a remarkable total of eight awards. Among the accolades are:

These esteemed awards underscore the Philippines' distinctive appeal, world-class destinations, and the unparalleled warmth of Filipino hospitality, showcasing not only the country's natural beauty and rich culture but also the commitment and passion of its people.

The World Travel Awards, known as the "Oscars of the travel and tourism industry," is an annual event that recognizes, honors, and celebrates excellence in all areas of the global travel and tourism industry, including tourism boards and attractions.
