𝗔𝗟𝗗𝗔𝗪 𝗞𝗔 𝗠𝗚𝗔 𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗪𝗔 — Mabulokon ug malampuson na tagsaulog an Aldaw Ka Mga Mamanwa dungan sa pagsaulog sa Indigenous Peoples Month ug sa 27th IPRA Commemoration. Ang maong kasaulogan sa lungsod sa Claver gipangunahan ni Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee kaiban ang 3 ka mga clans sa tribung Mamanwa (Bago, Boklas, ug Patac).

Nahimong memorable ang maong pagsaulog nga gipasiugdahan sa Municipal Tourism, Culture & Information Office (MTCIO) pinaagi sa nagkalain-laing aktibidades sama sa mga paduwa ug raffle, photo essay competition, ug Bahandi Fashion Show.

Suportado ang maong kalihukan sa mga partners in development sama sa TMC, THPAL ug PGMC. Gitambungan usab kini sa mga personalidad gikan sa National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Surigao del Norte.

Nipa/ Sasa fruits

The Nipa palm (Nypa fruticans) thrives in Southeast Asia's mangrove zones, offering both ecological and economic benefits. Its globular fruit clusters contain dark brown, egg-shaped seeds. While mature seeds are hard, the immature seeds have a jelly-like, edible flesh often used in desserts and drinks.

The leaves are traditionally harvested for durable roofing materials, providing natural insulation for rural structures like nipa huts. Additionally, the palm’s sap can be fermented into vinegar, alcoholic beverages (tuba), or biofuel.

Nipa ecosystems help reduce coastal erosion and serve as vital habitats for diverse wildlife, playing a key role in protecting coastal environments from floods and storms.

In celebration of World Tourism Day 2024, themed "Tourism and Peace," a tree planting activity was organized today by the Provincial Tourism Office, in collaboration with the Claver Tourism Office, Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU), and Platinum Group Metals Corporation.

The activity brought together students from SNSU's main campus and Claver Extension, aiming to promote eco-tourism throughout Surigao del Norte.
