The first-ever Culture and Arts Culmination in Alegria drew to a close with a vibrant variety show, uniting Municipal Heads, Barangay Officials, DepEd representatives, and enthusiastic locals in a celebration of creativity and cultural heritage.
The event kicked off with a mesmerizing traditional ethnic dance performed by LGU Office Heads, setting the stage for an evening filled with performances that captivated the audience.
In his heartfelt welcome remarks, Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Dominador G. Esma, Jr. emphasized the importance of embracing Alegria's unique identity and rich cultural heritage, urging everyone to cherish and preserve it for generations to come.
The variety show featured a diverse array of talents, with locals showcasing their singing and dancing prowess, highlighting the community's vibrant spirit and artistic expression.
Amidst the performances, Municipal Mayor Esma underscored the enduring significance of preserving culture in the face of technological advancements, emphasizing its role in fostering identity and unity within the community.
The event also saw the recognition of talent, as winners of the Painting and Poster Making Contest were awarded. Notably, students from San Pedro Elementary School and Alegria Central Elementary School excelled in the Poster-Making contest, while Alegria Stand Alone Senior High School students dominated the High School Painting Category.
In a nod to community participation, the winners of the Kabilin Exhibit by Barangay were announced, with Don Julio clinching the top spot.

"Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain," is the theme for the Culture and Arts Culmination 2024 of Alegria, Surigao del Norte, held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, initiated by the municipality's tourism office.
Under the leadership of Luniza P. Garrido, the head officer of Alegria's Tourism, the event aims to support local artists, showcase Alegria's culture, and celebrate its arts and traditions through paintings and posters.
As part of the event, painting and poster-making competitions were organized for student artists from Alegria, reflecting Garrido's commitment to fostering a vibrant arts community.
Additionally, the DOT invited Jhonblyn Guanco, a renowned artist, to judge the competition. "Art is a powerful medium for self-expression," Guanco remarked during the event.
Arts and traditions are what make a place one-of-a-kind. Alegria's unique culture radiates vibrant hues, painting the community and leading it to a journey of beauty and positivity.
