The Women Fisherfolk Leadership Corps, through the Global Ties U.S. Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund, proudly presents the 𝗪𝗙𝗟𝗖 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 2024. We would like to congratulate our Founder, , on being shortlisted as a 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 2024 powered by Tatler Gen.T held last November 8 at Singapore.

The Blue Water Heroes Awards shines a spotlight on the remarkable conservation efforts of passionate eco-champions from around Southeast Asia. Mark was one of the ten shortlisted finalists committed to conserving the region’s waters through innovative solutions that showed promise of scalability for the future.

Mark represented Lalakbayin in Singapore and brought his stories of change through a Pitch Presentation at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove in front of a panel of judges. The panel included Tay; Dr Toh; Winston Chow, associate professor of Urban Climate at Singapore Management University; Christine Amour-Levar, founder of Her Planet Earth and Women On A Mission; Tianna Nguyen, founder of business consulting firm Alensia; environmentalist and host Paul Foster; and Tatler Gen.T’s Chong Seow Wei.

📚 Featured eBook: The West Philippine Sea State of the Coasts Report (WPS SOC 2024) 🌊

The West Philippine Sea (WPS) is a region of significant ecological, economic, and social importance, both locally and globally. However, it is facing threats from natural and human-induced hazards, necessitating a dedicated SOC report.

The WPS State of the Coasts Report (WPS SOC 2024) comprises 13 contributed articles on topics relevant to the WPS, and information on coral reefs, fisheries, and various aspects of coastal resource management initiatives in 14 localities in the region. This blend of general and site-specific insights is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the coastal and marine environment in the WPS.

The WPS SOC 2024 aims to make information about the WPS accessible to a wider audience for education, public policy, and action. It also hopes to establish a regular and comprehensive reporting system for the region and encourage more regular publication of a national SOC.
