Relaxing Family Beach House with beautiful water views

Located at the northern most town of Cebu Island, Daanbantayan, our family beach house is truly an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The expansive house can comfortably accommodate

12 to 15 persons, making it ideal for family vacations or company outings. The house is on a 3-hectare property, which provides the seclusion conducive for relaxation. The beachfront of the property faces the Taňon Strait. The house is built to take advantage of this view. The beach is a source of fun for the young ones. When the tide is in, it is a great swimming beach as the waves are usually gentle and the water is only a few feet deep. When the tide is out, the foreshore extends over a hundred meters. During this time locals pick clams and shellfish for dinner. Our kids enjoy exploring all the tiny creatures they could find in the tide pools. It is very quiet during the night. Occasionally, fireflies circle the large sea almond tree (Talisay) in the garden. There are times when the local fishing community line the horizon at night with the bright fishing lights. The house

The house is an expansive bungalow. As you walk through the front doors the water views are visible through the living room and patio. An appropriately sized kitchen is available. Behind the house is a small barbeque pit to grill the fresh catch of the day which you can buy from a nearby market. The family’s favourite piece of furniture in the house is the 20-foot ironwood table on the patio. Everybody just congregates around this table to chat, eat, snack, watch the kids play in the lawn the whole day. A steady tropical breeze flows through the house and patio most of the time. Daanbantayan

The property is located in Cebu’s northern most municipality of Daanbantayan. It is a laid back town where the locals are friendly and hospitable, typical to most Philippine provincial towns. The property is couple of kilometres from the town center. The Daanbantayan Public market, though still ruined from the wrath of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda), is a great source of fresh seafood and vegetables. We delight in the market trips especially when we encounter an occasional rare find like yellow fin tuna. Except when the seas are rough, fish at the market is always abundant. For other grocery items, there is a large grocery store near the public market that is adequately stocked. For the early risers, a few hundred meters away is the town of Bakhawan. This is where local fishermen dock their boats to sort their daily catch of sardines. Anyone is welcome to affordably buy the fish by the 100s. Mobile signal for calls and sms are generally good in the area, but mobile internet is rather patchy, which is great for getting kids off their gadgets habits.
