History
“To arrive at success, set the right goals and work for it” – these are the Encouraging words of the principal, Dr. Emma C. In 1995, CNHS was converted into a state college. This conversion brought problem of displacement to thousands of first year students. To solve the problem, three newly legislated schools were established – San Roque Integrated School, Moreno Integrated School and
Camarines Norte High School. Luckily for the two integrated schools. They have places to house while the revived CNHS has no place to conduct classes. School year 1995-96 started with 228 first year students temporarily accommodated by Baldovino Elementary School. Some elementary teachers of the said school volunteered to supervise and teach these students as per request by the principal, Mrs. It was June 27 when five CNSC teachers took over the said classes. These five pioneer teachers of CNHS were Ma. Lourdes Balane, Mr. Arturo Gomez, Mrs. Raquel Orpiada, Mr. Jose Sapusao, Sr. , Mr. John Terrible and two volunteer teachers Mr. Raul Labuson. Classes were still held at Baldovino Elementary School. Sometime in July classes were transferred to Reyes Terminal along the diversion road with four-temporary built classrooms. When super-typhoon Rosing hit the province in Nov. 1 these temporary classrooms were completely blown – down and no longer suitable for a school house. Teachers, students and even parents were upset about the situation. But the principal was not easily discouraged. She exerted her efforts to request for support. Thanks to Bishop Benjamin Almoneda, the proposed Nazareth Development Center at Purok 3 Camambugan was allowed to be used. So, classes were transferred here. Four classes were held at the same time in a skeleton building – with roofings, no division and no walls – just an open area. Still, they have to sacrifice until the end of SY 1995- 1996. SY 1996-1997 enrollment was increased by 200. Seven teachers were added Mrs. Alicia S. Ramores, Miss Ma. Cecilia Naing, Ms. Leny Berja, Mr. Geruel Pentecostes, Mr. Raul Daiz, Mr. Avelino Aguilar, Mrs. Soraya Quiroz and Mrs. Nelie C. Sangcap. The same place was occupied. Again, unlucky day for CNHS, the principal received a notice that the place will be used by Nazareth Development Center and the completion of construction will be done. That was sometime in August, 1996. Classes were interrupted for almost a week. This time, the PTA President, Nicolas “Jun” Zabala and Mrs. Zenaida Paris requested the Municipal Mayor of Daet, Mayor Elmer E. Panotes to use the municipal library, which is beside the Philippine Postal Corporation as temporary classroom. The request was granted, Brgy. Captain Ignacio Cambronero of Camambugan also offered the Brgy. Hall as the other classroom. Comes school year 1997-1998, enrolment is almost 800. The municipal library and the Barangay Hall could no longer accommodate this number of students. Problem was again felt by the school. Through these years of struggles, a realization of a place where to establish a school may come true. Mrs. Farida Pajarillo, wife of the late Gov. Fernando Pajarillo and Dr. Pacencia Boo donated a lot to the provincial government to be used as school site for CNHS. This one hectare lot is almost 200 meters away from the diversion road and hundred of steps from the Hall of Justice. Construction of several classrooms started. The continuous support of Congressman Jess B. Pimentel, Governor Roy A. Padilla, Jr. and other concerned persons signaled school year 1997-1998 a good fortune. CNHS PTA gave their full support too, especially Mrs. Zenaida Paris, the President. Now, take a glance – there is face – lifting at CNHS. After such shocking experiences, at last, the school finds its place at Camambugan. From a place which could be compared to a mini – forest a school rises – believe it or not – a real school is on the making. http://cnnhsonline.com/wordpress/?page_id=3
