Aside from its ancient history, Egypt became a part of the Muslim Caliphate around 600 CE thus, the Islamic religion remains the most practice belief in the state. With this, there's also an Islamic mosque that every tourist shall go.
Ibn Tulun Mosque - It is the largest mosque and also the oldest in the city of Cairo. If you have visited Mecca ever, you might find a similarity to the mosque there. It was built by Gebel Yashkur. This is another place from where you can have a bird’s eye view of the city and thus serves as a great vantage point to click pictures of the city. 📍The Egyptian Museum

The Egyptian Museum is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East and houses the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world, an estimated of 100,000 ancient artifacts of Egyptian civilization. The museum displays an extensive collection spanning from the Predynastic Period to the Greco-Roman Era. Also, the Museum Of Egyptian Antiquities took the preservation of small statues of servants carrying out their duties. Famous things we could find in the museum are King Tutankhamun's mask, the statue of Khufu and Khafra, Merneptah Stele, and many more.

How to get there?

The Egyptian Museum is located in central Cairo within walking distance of the Sadat metro station. You can also get to the property by taxi, tour bus or car. Bus tour operators that visit the museum. A 15 minutes taxi ride is enough if the traffic is okay. Khan el-Khalili is a famous bazaar and souq (or souk) in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. Established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era and named for one of its several historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has since become one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike. It is also home to many Egyptian artisans and workshops involved in the production of traditional crafts and souvenirs. This shopping district sells assorted merchandise such as Arabian lamps, lanterns, antiques, carpets, and silverware. Also, numerous alleys of the bazaar offer gold, copper, and precious spices that are only exclusive in Egypt.

How to get there?

As Khan El Khalili Market is located in the heart of Cairo, it is quite easy for first time tourists to book an Uber or a taxi to Ataba Station then from there, you need to walk in order to get into the streets of Khan El Khalili.

📍The Saqqara Necropolis

Saqqara is one of the vast, ancient burial grounds in Egypt, serving as the large cemetery or burial place that is called a “ Necropolis ” for the Ancient Egyptian capital, Memphis. This region is known for the “Step Pyramid ” the oldest known of Egypt's 97 pyramids. It was built in 2700 BC for King Djoser of the 3rd Dynasty by the architect and genius Imhotep. Sixteen Egyptian kings built pyramids at Saqqara, which are now in various states of preservation.

Highly recommended spots to visit here are:

🔘Pyramid of Djoser - a prominent landmark of the third Dynasty ruler Djoser or Zoser, built by Imhotep and thought to be the earliest major stone structure erected in Egypt.

🔘Tomb of Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum - a rare occurrence in Egypt burial traditions. According to some historians, these two individuals are the first recorded same-sex couples in ancient history.

How to get there?

There’s no public transit from Cairo to Saqqara, so either hires a car or book a tour that includes round-trip transportation. In addition, the attractions are spread out, so you’ll need a driver to help you explore the entire site.

📍Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza is a gigantic statue made with limestone located in Giza, Egypt just near the Great Pyramids. It was created during the reign of King Khafre (2572 - 2465 BCE) and was made according to his image. It retains as Egypt's most famous landmark due to its architecture and uniqueness, only one of a kind in this world. The sculpture measures 73 meters long and 20 meters and it features a lion's body and a human head ornamented with a royal headdress.

How to get there?

The Sphinx is located to the northeast of the Pyramid of Khafre site, close to the perimeter of Cairo's suburbs. The best way to visit is by guided tour. Alternatively, take a taxi from the center of Cairo to the Pyramids of Giza complex, then walk or take a camel ride around the site.

The Temple of Horus was located in the modern Aswan Region. It is one of the four sole temples that has built during the Ptolemaic dynasty (305BC - 30 BC). The temple itself was dedicated to Horus, an Egyptian god who represents the war and sky. Measuring 137 meters long by 79 meters wide and 36 meters high. The temple, along with its 3 counterparts are the only Egyptian monuments that utilize a mixture of Greco-Roman architecture.

The complex temple of Karnak is located in the city of Luxor beside the Nile River. It was constructed around 2055 BC to 100 AD as it was dedicated to principal Egyptian gods like Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. This temple complex was the center of faith, while the City of Thebes (modern-day Luxor) was the chosen capital of most Egyptian Pharaohs. Over the passage of the dynasty, Pharaohs added new things to the temple, from being a religious hotspot into a palace, banquet hall, and sanctuary due to its proximity to the Nile River. Interestingly, this temple complex acts as an open-air museum for attractions like the Great Hypostyle Hall, Karnak's Pylons, and Wadjet Hall.

🔘The Great Hypostyle Wall is a building about 103 meters by 52 meters with 134 colossal columns. It was constructed by Pharaoh Seti I and was finished by his son Rameses II.
🔘Karnak's Pylons are sets of columns that serve as gateways of the complex. This structure is connected within the walls and usually contains hieroglyphic scribes depicting the Pharaoh who built them.
🔘The Wadjet Hall was constructed by Thutmose I as a ceremonial site for coronation and banquet hall for Egyptian festivals. It spans around 75 by 14 meters and its famous structure was the tall obelisk at the center.

The tomb of Seti I is one of the most beautiful temples in the Valley of the Kings. The walls of the passageways and the pillared rooms are decorated with high and low reliefs. The massive burial chamber was adorned with colorful scenes on the walls and an astronomical scene on the ceiling.
The tomb of Tutankhamun is one of the smallest and least decorated tombs in the Valley of the Kings, but the highlight here is seeing the mummy of King Tut.
The tomb of Ramesses V and VI are adorned with pillared hallway, at about the midpoint of this tomb, is breathtaking. The burial chamber is enormous and the astronomical ceiling is decorated with the book of the Heavens.
