The Rustic Kitchen Story
Rustic Kitchen is all about our love for food and the journey that takes us where we are today. We started our humble beginnings in the City of Tacloban. Born out of our passion for food, we wanted to start a small restaurant that will offer our personal favorites and will bring families closer together. With that in mind, we came up with an American Restaurant that offers quality western dishes named Uncle Sam Restaurant. In 2011, our dream stood up in an old and idle house transformed into a small restaurant at the heart of Tacloban City. It’s existence was inspired by the dream to offer Taclobanons nothing fancy but just good foods. With the success and the positive response given to us, in 2013, we transferred to a bigger location. Through the years we always put quality and customer service at the forefront of our operations and consequently we gained our loyal customers. With this, we were inspired to find new ways to serve better and hoping that through our foods and services, we can play a simple part in bringing Taclobanon families together, friends more closer, celebrating life, making strangers feel they belong, bringing laughter to everyone's heart, and in making wonderful memories with their loved ones. All is well until that fateful day came upon us. In November 2013, Yolanda happened. Our family, with the grace of our Lord survived the ordeal that we could describe as the worst in our lives and for our business as well. All what we have started were all gone… but not our passion for food. In 2014, we relocated here in Davao City where we immediately fell in love with the city. With our will to stand back on our feet, in 2015, we started this small restaurant in Cabantian named Rustic Kitchen. With the rustic concept, cozy feel, warm service and most of all quality and affordable food, we have gained the attention of the Davaoeños. Now, we have already somehow made a mark on the heart of our valued customers. Our journey here in Davao has just started and we thank Davaoeños for the warm welcome. We feel loved and somehow slowly erased some of the scars left behind by the tragedy we have endured. We will never stop finding ways to serve you better! Nothing fancy… just good food!❤
