Mount Kinabalu (Malay: Gunung Kinabalu) is a mountain in Sabah, Malaysia. It is protected as Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage Site. Kinabalu is the highest peak in Borneo's Crocker Range and is the highest mountain in the Malay Archipelago as well as the highest mountain in Malaysia.The mountain is located on the east Malaysian state of Sabah, on the island of Borneo. Mysterious and moody, but always a magnificent .
From the KK City it takes around 2 hours land travel going up to the Kinabalu Park registration. After all the paper works done you will be headed to the Timpohon Gate and start the trek.
The hike duration will be 2D&1N and no need to bring tent and cooking equipment because the Kinabalu park have a guest house on the basecamp which is you can stay.
You can go to the summit on the 2nd day of the hike and make sure you will reach the summit before the cut off time 5am. Wake up call will be around 1:30 am and start ascend 2:30 am.
Dont forget to bring your jackets with fleece underneath and of course water to dehydrate yourself.

-Thanks for the wonderfull experience that i can take a photo from the sky and riding with the helicopter.it was not easy to be a pilot you need to learned a lot in the experience and not all the classroom tell everything and they knows what happen in the air.even it was a strong wind and the helicopter feel stress because of the wind.thanks with our good pilot he made my day memorable and give a courage to get a pilot course.i hope someday i will be a good pilot.safe flight all aviators.

Our 1st climb in 2016. Guest from USA and india.
We been experience a strong wind and cloudy sky this two guest did not stop to reach the summit and enjoy the beauty of nature..we prepared filipino food style and we cook vegetarian food because one of our guest did not eat meat..then every time we eat they told us that the food that we prepared are amazing and so yummy..we are feel jealous and say thank you to appreciate our effort and let them experience filipino food taste. A very friendly guest and its not hard to mingle.we been go to the HOT spring in PALAKA a man made hotspring.this hot spring are located to sta.cruz trail or in Tumpis.We're proud to say that Jennifer and ashwin you survive the highest mountain in the philippines MT.APO. History of MT.APO

Six indigenous groups, the Manobos, Bagobo, Ubos, Atas, K’Iagans and Tagacaolo, live in the area of Mount Apo. They consider the mountain to be sacred ground and a place of worship. A number of genealogies of Lumad leaders in South Central Mindanao trace their roots to Mount Apo. For the Lumads, the term "Apo" was coined from the name of their great grandparent Apo Sandawa.[9]

Mount Apo is a large solfataric, potentially active stratovolcano in the island of Mindanao, Philippines. With an elevation of 2,954 metres (9,692 ft) above sea level, it is the highest mountain in the Philippine Archipelago and is located between Davao City and Davao del Sur province in Region XI and Cotabato province in Region XII. The peak overlooks Davao City 45 kilometres (28 mi) to the northeast, Digos City 25 kilometres (16 mi) to the southeast, and Kidapawan City 20 kilometres (12 mi) to the west.

The first two attempts to reach Mt. Apo’s summit ended in failure: that of Jose Oyanguren (1852) and Señor Real (1870). The first recorded successful expedition was led by Don Joaquin Rajal in October 10, 1880. Prior to the climb, Rajal had to secure the permission of the Bagobo chieftain, Datu Manig. It is said that the Datu demanded that human sacrifice be made to please the god Mandarangan. Fortunately, the datu agreed to waive this demand, and the climb commenced on October 6, 1880, succeeding five days later. Since then, numerous expeditions followed. These and more are described in colorful narrations by Fr. Miguel Bernad, S.J. On May 9, 1936, Mount Apo was declared a national park by President Manuel L. Quezon. A note on the etymologies: Mt. Apo is said to be named after a nobleman named Apong, who was killed while mediating the battle between two suitors of his daughter Saribu. Another proposed origin of the name is from the word Apo itself, which in Filipino tongues means “master” or “grandfather”.
