BREAKING: Cebu Pacific will launch direct flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong and Iloilo to Singapore and vice versa after a four-year halt due to the pandemic.

Michelle Eve de Guzman, Cebu Pacific’s Marketing Director, said the daily Iloilo-Hong Kong flights will be launched starting October 27, 2024.

: Plane fares are expected to become cheaper next month after the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) brought down the fuel surcharge for the first time since February.

In its latest advisory, CAB announced that the fuel surcharge for July would be Level 5. This was a decline from the current Level 6, which has been in effect for the past four months.

The last time the regulator implemented a Level 5 fuel surcharge was in February.

Under Level 5, airlines are allowed to collect fuel surcharges of P151 to P542 for domestic flights while those flying outside the country will pay additional P498.03 to P3,703.11 each.

These prices are lower compared to Level 6 rates, which range from P185 to P665 for domestic routes and P610.37 to P4,538.40. for international flights.

Fuel surcharges are additional fees by airlines to help them recover fuel costs. These are separate from the base fare, which is the actual amount paid by the passenger for his or her seat.

Next month, passengers flying from Manila to Caticlan, Legaspi, Kalibo, and Roxas will be shelling out an additional P238 while those going to Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod, and Puerto Princesa will pay a fuel surcharge of P316.

The applicable surcharge for flights to Dumaguete, Tagbilaran, Surigao, and Siargo will be P418 while flights to Zamboanga, Cotabato, and Davao, P487.

Passengers going to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Vietnam will pay an additional amount of P498.03 while those flying to China will be charged P676.20 on top of the base fare.| via INQUIRER.net

Resumption of Manila-Dipolog Flights

Cebu Pacific is pleased to inform its passengers that it will reinstate Manila-Dipolog jet operations starting December 18, 2023.

CEB was able to complete a thorough and satisfactory safety assessment of the runway at the Dipolog airport following examinations and repairs performed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

The additional flights that we have been flying to and from Pagadian to serve the Dipolog passengers will cease at the same time as the direct service to Dipolog recommences.

Safety is our utmost priority and CEB deemed it entirely necessary to examine the runway and its repairs prior to recommencing operations.

Resumption of Cebu-Dipolog Operations
As of November 9, 2023; 4:30 PM

Cebu Pacific (CEB) will resume operations of flights between Cebu and Dipolog starting November 10, 2023 via Cebgo (DG) flights.

However, flight operations between Manila and Dipolog will remain suspended due to runway repairs which limit commercial jet operations. As a result, the following flights from November 9 to 30 are cancelled:

• 5J 703/704: Manila – Dipolog – Manila

• 5J 705/706: Manila – Dipolog – Manila

CEB is also mounting additional recovery flights to provide affected passengers with more options.

We have also provided passengers the following options which they may avail through the Manage Booking portal on the CEB website https://www.cebupacificair.com/manage-booking up to two hours before their scheduled time of departure:

1. Flight Rebooking / Rerouting

Rebook or reroute to any flight bound for Pagadian or Ozamiz. Should the travel period extend beyond thirty (30) days from the original flight date, a fare difference may be applied.

2. Travel Fund

Store the full amount in a virtual CEB wallet valid and use this to either book a new flight or pay for add-ons (example: baggage allowance, seat selection, etc.)

3. Refund

Full refund of your ticket.

We expect a high volume of passengers to travel on our domestic and international flights during the public holidays next week for the traditional Undas/All Saint’s Day break and the October 30 local elections in the Philippines.

For your travel convenience, we advise you to:

• Allocate extra time in going to the airport to ensure that you will make it in time for your flight, particularly when flying out of Manila or other major airports in the Philippines where heavy traffic is expected.

• Plan to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your domestic flight; or at least 6 hours before your international flight.
