Today is Filipino-American friendship day, an event which commemorates the relationship the USA has had with the Philippines (and the 4th also marks the end of the bloody Philippine-American War in 1902 AND the USA's Declaration of Independence in 1776). I usually find a group of Filipinos having drinks, buy them a round and say, "It's Filipino-American friendship day. Thank you." The Philippines has given me three of the greatest gifts in my life. So, for me, today is a very special day.
