2nd LUBI-LUBI FEST BATTLE OF THE BANDS
GUIDELINES
1. The 2nd Lubi-Lubi Fest Battle of the Bands is open to all bands in Mindanao.
The organizing team will only accept 8 bands with minimum of 5 members and maximum of 7 through the screening process.
2. Participating bands must submit their audition piece, band name, list of final band members and contact number on or before September 23, 2023 thru the email [email protected].
In the audition piece, bands must perform one reggae song, one OPM song and one foreign alternative rock song.
3. The screening committee will post the names of the bands who will successfully passed the screening process on September 24, 2023. All band leaders must join the virtual meeting and orientation on September 25, 2023, 7 o’clock in the evening. The link will be sent in the email.
4. In the elimination round, bands must perform 4 songs of their own choice with the following genre one original composition, one grunge rock, one metal rock and one punk rock song. There will be a 25 minutes time limit for this round.
5. After the elimination round, only 5 bands will proceed into the rumble round. In this round, bands will perform 2 song of their own choice with the following genre one rap-metal song and one blues-rock song. There will be a 15 minutes time limit for this round.
6. After the rumble round, only 3 bands will proceed in the knockout round. In this round, the bands will perform an emo-punk rock genre song of their own choice. There will be a 10 minutes time limit for this round. After this round, the committee will award the 3rd Place in the Lubi-Lubi Fest Battle of the Bands.
7. The remaining 2 bands will fight for the Final round. In this round, they will perform a Jazz Rock genre song of their own choice. There will be a 10 minutes time limit for this round.
In every round, scores will be back to Zero.
8. The elimination round will be on October 1, 2023 and the succeeding rounds will be on October 2, 2023. The competition will start at 7 o’clock in the evening at (Party Zone) Plaza Rizal, Poblacion, Glan, Sarangani Province.
Participants must also provide a photo of the Band with all the members and a 30-60 seconds video introduction. They must also post a video greeting online and tagged the SK Federation of Glan and Glan, Sarangani Tourism FB Page on September 29, 2023.
9. The organizing committee will provide a drum set and 5 microphones only. Bands can have their rehearsal during the day of their performance from 10 o’clock in the morning until 5 o’clock in the afternoon.
There will be 3 judges for the whole duration of the competition.
10. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
11. Criteria for Judging
Musicianship 30%
(Level of individual play, evidence of rehearsal, band know the lyrics, ready and prepared to play)
Creativity 30%
(Arrangements, distinctiveness, fun and passion of performance)
Audience Interaction 20%
(Physical and verbal interaction, band talked to/ with the audience, confident interaction with audience)
Quality of Performance 20%
(Band confidence and competence, stage presence and set list well-constructed)
TOTAL 100%
