𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗥-𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗣 𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗨𝗖𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗

From September 16-20, 2024, the Tourism Office, under the leadership of Mayor Florencio B. Nalula, successfully conducted a Seminar-Workshop on Cultural Mapping in the Municipality of Hingyon. This initiative was made possible through the support of the Vice Governor Glenn D. Prudenciano, the President of the Provincial Councilors League-Ifugao Hon. Karen Joy B. Luglug, and Board Member Jordan T. Gullitiw.

The workshop aimed to identify and appreciate the municipality's rich cultural heritage, create a comprehensive database and maps of cultural resources, and preserve the unique cultural identity of the municipality.

Attendees included Punong Barangays, Barangay Secretaries, IPMRs, and Sangguniang Barangay Chairpersons for the Committee on Tourism, Culture, and the Arts. The Seminar-Workshop was facilitated by Ms. Leticia L. Lagayan, Information Officer III of the National Museum of the Philippines based in Kiangan, who also served as a resource person, alongside Mr. Jeymar Ballanti,IT Specialists/Mapper from the MPDO. The collective efforts of the facilitators ensured a successful and insightful workshop aimed at safeguarding the municipality’s cultural heritage for future generations.

With the initial data gathered, the Municipal Tourism Office will facilitate the establishment of a database and consolidate this information to update the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP), specifically in the section on Culture and the Arts. This is also vital for the next steps towards a successful cultural mapping initiative.

The MLGU-Tourism Office recently conducted tourism mapping and validation in Barangay Northern Cababuyan, Hingyon, Ifugao (Blgu Northern Cababuyan), specifically at MT. DOKAP.

The tourism site will soon be open to the public; for the meantime, please be responsible tourists: dispose of your garbage properly and leave all endemic plants undisturbed. Let's protect and preserve our natural site together!"

The potential tourism sites inspected and mapped were the Mun-ahuk Waterfalls, Nunhabangana Falls, Ipuggaw Pool, and Nunhabangana Mini-Cave.

The MLGU-Tourism Office recently conducted tourism mapping and validation in Barangay Ubuag, Hingyon, Ifugao (Blgu Ubuag). Accompanying them were Hon. Jessie D. Habbiling, Jr., Punong Barangay, Hon. Benita Ambojnon, Sangguniang Barangay, and Mr. Henry Hoggang.

The potential tourism sites inspected and mapped were the Domog Ancestral Tomb, Iwoh River, Angyo River, and Buduhan Waterfalls.
