COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:
Q: Does my bank account balance have any bearing on my visa approval? Do I really need to have money on my bank? Do I need to provide "show money"?
A: Your Tourist visa approval does not depend if you have money in your bank or not. Tourist visa approval is based on STRONG TIES to your home country. It really does not matter if you have 1 million in your bank account, it doesn't even matter if you don't have a bank account. What matters are the REASONS YOU HAVE TO COME BACK to your home country. Your money may be in a bank in your home country, but you can always access your money if you so decide to stay in the US. Some consuls in different locations, in UAE or Saudi for example, do ask you for bank statements only to prove that you can support your own travel, but that is not what they base your visa approval on. So in simple terms, money on your bank accounts are really not considered strong ties. So don't worry if you have huge amount of money in there or not, you just have to have enough to support your travel if you claim you are paying for your own trip.
If you need help and you want more in-depth interview coaching, application assistance, or consultation, please feel free to message me.

COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:
Q: Am I allowed to search or a job or get interviewed while I'm in the US under a B1 or B2 visa? And if I get hired, when I can I start working?
A: As per USCIS post on Tweeter (link below), you are ALLOWED TO SEARCH for employment and be interviewed for a position while in the US under a B1 or B2 visa. However, if you do get hired, you are NOT ALLOWED TO START working unless you a petition and a request for change of status is FILED and APPROVED and EFFECTIVE. Should you mention this detail on your visa interview? I highly recommend you DON'T as saying you will be looking for a job while on a tourist visa might give the consul doubt on your actual purpose and that you may not come back at all.

COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:
Q: DO I have to bring my DS160 confirmation page to my interview? Can I have someone complete my DS160 for me? What if my agent made a mistake on my DS160 and I can't reach him/her anymore, what can I do? Can I still edit my DS160 once submitted?
A: Yes, you must bring your DS160 confirmation page with you on your interview day. It is one of the mandatory documents you must bring with you. You can have someone do or complete your DS160 application for you, but I always recommend to do it or provide the answers yourself. If you need help with any of the questions on there, you can always ask for help. Doing your own application form benefits you because you know the answers that you put on there so that your answers will also be consistent with your interview. Do not just blindly trust anyone else to do your DS160! It is okay to have someone else do it for you, but make sure you review the form first before they submit it and that they send you a copy of the Application questionnaire and confirmation page after. This is your application so take charge of it and have control over it. If there are any mistakes, changes or updates on your DS160, it cannot be edited anymore once it is submitted... BUT... you can still create and submit a new one. Just be sure to submit your new and updated DS160 at least 7 days prior to your interview date and that you update the DS160 number in your CGI portal account.

COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:

Q: Do I have a chance of getting approved for a visa? What are my chances? I have so many β€œred flags” People say I don’t stand a chance. Should I even apply?
A: Many applicants always ask me if they have a chance. Anyone who wishes to fulfill his or her dream of visiting the US always has a chance, no matter how rich or poor you are, employed or not, single or married; everyone has a chance. Now keep in mind that not every one is the same. Some might have a really good chance; some might have a really low chance. But there is always a chance. If this is something you really want, go for it. Let no one stop you from applying. Don’t let anyone bring your hope and spirit down. The only people who do not have any chance at all are those who do not try at all. The only people who can deny you a visa are the consul and YOU. BUT if you can wait to improve your status, by all means do so. What do you have to lose or what is the worst thing that could happen? Yes if you get denied, you lose that $185 visa fee and you go home empty handed. But that is not the end of everything. You can always improve yourself and your situation and try again. There are so many people who have been denied 5 to 6 times and kept going and they eventually got approved. Yes not everyone can afford to just give away $185 in visa fees every time they get denied, but if you don’t even try once, then you denied yourself the only opportunity. I always say, there are no such things as β€œred flags”. I’ve seen different people get approved; some with no job, low salary, no business, no savings, sponsored, family in the US, no kids, no spouse. What makes them special? THEY TRIED. If this is something you really want, go for it. I read a really good quote and it says:
TRAVEL WHILE YOU HAVE GOT YOUR HEALTH. DON’T WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE TOO OLD TO ENJOY IT. DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THE MONEY, JUST MAKE IT WORK HOWEVER YOU CAN. NO ONE EVER WISHES FOR MORE MONEY IN THEIR LAST DAYS, BUT EXPERIENCES AND MEMORIES ARE PRICELESS.
If you want to take a chance, let me help you get a better chance. If you need any assistance, just send me a message and I’ll get you on the right track.

INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:
Q: Do they check my social media profile? Do I need to disclose my social media profile? Why do they care about my social media activities?
A: YES, they WILL check your social media account. You do not need to disclose your social media account if you don't want to, but it would help to at least set your profile to public maybe a few days prior to your interview. It will benefit you especially if you claim you have work or business. Travel photos/posts also helps to show you have been to different places and you love to travel, to lessen the doubt of the consul's mind. On that note, your social media profile also helps the consul see if you have any intentions of staying in the US if they see posts about you wanting to leave your home country and stay in the US, even if it's just a joke. So be careful of what you post on your social media profiles. You can use it as a tool to help you increase your chances... and it can also hurt you if you put out the wrong messages. To know more about how you can use your social media profile to your advantage or if you need help with your application and interview coaching for your interview, please feel free to message me.

COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:
Q: What should I wear for the actual visa interview at the embassy?
A: Smart Casual. No need to be formal with dress shirt and tie or a gown. A nice clean shirt or collared shirt, jeans or slacks, a blouse... just wear something you are COMFORTABLE with as if you're going to church or going to your friend's wedding reception. I recommend sneakers or any comfortable shoes. wear your favorite color... people say white is lucky during interviews. I don't know if that's true or not, but hey, won't hurt to try right? No need to wear high heels, dress shoes or a dress-to-impress attire. This is not a job interview, but it's not a night club either so no "too revealing" clothes. Your visa is based on your application and answers... not what you wear... so do not wear something that would only distract your consul. DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THIS... you have so many things to worry about and what to wear shouldn't have to add to your worries.

28/05/2024

COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:

Q: I have a pending petition, can I still apply for a Tourist visa? Do I have to mention in my application that I have a pending petition?
A: Yes and Yes. If you have a pending petition, you can still apply for a tourist visa. You also need to declare in your application that you have a pending petition. There is no way around it because it is in the system they will still see it. There are, however, hurdles and risks involved. With a pending petition, you now have "intent" to migrate or stay and live in the US. Now you will have to work that much harder to prove to the consul and even at the Immigration Officer that even with a pending petition, you only intend to stay in the US for a short time and that you will be back to your home country after your trip. Do not use your tourist visa to bypass your pending petition. If you misuse your tourist visa even overstaying for a day, you risk losing your petition as well. Never lie about being married or engaged to a US citizen during your application or interview. An abuse on your tourist visa can jeopardize not only your pending petition, but you also risk any future applications of your family members. On a positive note, a denial on a tourist visa does not affect your pending petition. So apply anyway! If you need help with your tourist visa application and interview coaching, please feel free to send me a message.

COACH'S INTERVIEW TIP OF THE DAY:
Q: How many days of stay in the US should I put down on my visa application? Does it really matter? If I'm allowed to stay a maximum of 6 months, should I put down 6 months?
A: Your answer should be realistic and consistent with your true intent and purpose of traveling to the US. If you put down a long period of time, especially if this is your first application, it may look like you’re making plans and finding ways to stay and migrate and live in the US. It is not advisable to put down more than a month of stay on your first visa application. If you request for 3 months and your only purpose is to go visit Disneyland, but you do not have that much money in the bank and your monthly income is not that great to support a 3 months stay in the US, then it would look more suspicious and more grounds for denial. Your length of stay should be consistent with your capacity to pay for your travel and that you should not be a burden to the people in the US.
To learn more about how many days to request for your specific purpose and how to be more prepared and confident for your visa interview, please feel free to pm me to avail my coaching services.
