Relative to the upcoming Holy Week Celebration this month of March, tourists are enjoined to properly coordinate with the destination’s Local Government Units and Tourism Offices and to closely contact with your accredited hotels/resorts, airline, ferry and land transport companies to avoid inconvenience and/or being stranded.

All local government units and tourism enterprises are also enjoined to activate its tourist emergency units and provide necessary assistance to visitors during the mentioned holiday.

Incase of tourist related emergency, kindly scan the QR Code for the contact information of Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices of Western Visayas’ provinces and highly urbanized cities.

The Philippine Tourism Awards (PTA) is the highest and most prestigious citation in Philippine Tourism. The PTA is a recognition program of the Philippine Department of Tourism that seeks to honor industry players and LGUs who have demonstrated excellence in the development and promotion of the country’s tourism sector.

The PTA is designed to achieve the following objectives:

β€’ Foster an innovative and competitive consciousness in the country by recognizing individuals, corporate entities, and LGUs, who have contributed immeasurably to the growth of the industry;
β€’ Recognize individuals and entities in the tourism industry whose creativity, expertise, professionalism, and service have been of the highest standards and have highlighted the Filipino identity.

β€’ For Tourism Pillars Awards, Application and supporting documents will be accepted until March 8, 2024.
β€’ For Philippine Tourism Industry Awards, application and supporting documents will be accepted until March 30, 2024.
