LOOK: CAAP Operations Status Report 141 on Philippine Air Traffic Activity under the COVID-19 Code Red Sublevel 2

On August 9, 71 commercial flights were recorded by CAAP as it maintains operability under the provisions of the Modified Enchanced Community Quarantine and General Community Quarantines.

23 sweeper flights or special flights, which catered to a total of 1,092 passengers, were mounted to transport stranded passengers.

Meanwhile, continued service for cargo flights have been carried out, with 79 cargo flights being completed, in order to ensure that transport of goods is sustained.

HEADS UP!
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has issued a list of airports with commercial flights as of June 21.

These Airlines have scheduled commercial flights after local government units (LGUs) allowed the commercial operation of airports in their respective areas.

In Iloilo province, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. has approved outbound and inbound flights at the Iloilo Airport in Cabatuan town.

However, flights will only cater locally stranded individuals and overseas workers from Manila, employees who have work in Metro Manila and overseas workers who have scheduled flights back to their employment abroad.

DAILY FLIGHT UPDATE: List of airports with commercial flights as of 19 June 2020, 7:00PM

Airlines have scheduled commercial flights at 17 airports in the country after Local Government Units (LGUs) have issued orders categorically supporting the resumption of commercial airport operations in their respective areas.

Some airports, while allowing commercial flights, are subject to different documentary and passenger LGU restrictions.

Note that the resumption of regular commercial flights depend on coordination and conditions imposed by LGUs.

The Iloilo Airport in Cabatuan town is set to accept INBOUND commercial flights from Metro Manila.

✈️ WHAT AIRLINES?
📌 Air Asia, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines
📌 Each airline could have twice-a-week flights to the Iloilo Airport, according to CAAP Iloilo chief Manuela Luisa Palma.

✈️ WHO WILL BE ALLOWED?
📌 For the time being, only 1,500 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) from Manila would be allowed to return to Iloilo every week.
📌This number of passengers would be equally divided among the three airlines.

✈️ SEATING CAPACITY?
📌 Defensor agreed to set the cap – 1,500 – on the number of weekly air passengers to avoid overwhelming the quarantine facilities of local government units.

✈️ WHEN WOULD THESE INBOUND FLIGHTS RESUME?
📌 Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. said he would first issue an executive order either before this week is over or early next week.

📌 The executive order may also include requirements that can be demanded from passengers before they can be issued plane tickets, added the governor.

Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. has approved outbound flights to Manila from the Iloilo Airport in Cabatuan town.

Here’s everything you need to know about the flight resumption:

📌 WHO ARE ALLOWED?
Locally stranded individuals, employees who have work in Metro Manila and overseas workers who have scheduled flights back to their employment abroad.

📌 WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
Air passengers must have “COMPLETE DOCUMENTS” including a travel authority from the Philippine National Police and certification that they were able to complete 14 days of quarantine and didn’t have symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) such as fever and cough, among others.

📌 The initial outbound flights approved were those of the Philippine Airlines (PAL).

📌 MORE OUTBOUND FLIGHTS will be allowed should other airlines offer them, according to Defensor.

📌 STILL NOT ALLOWED
Inbound and outbound regular commercial flights for LEISURE purposes are not yet allowed, said Defensor.

This is a developing situation. We may reduce or add flights depending on passenger demand, quarantine conditions and travel restrictions. We continue to work with national and local authorities on restarting flights.
