The root crop (wakay) represents the Wakay Festival as well as our history, tradition, and culture.
The lush leaves of the wakay represents the growth of the wakay (in a literal sense) as well as our growth and development as a community.
The stem connecting the wakay and the leaves represents the rootedness (or connectedness) of our growth and development to our history, tradition, and culture.
The round yellow background represents the “Ivana Spirit” and community solidarity.

Tourism Workers for Mother Earth!

On March 19, 2024, Our local Tour Guides and Tourism Workers participated in this year's observance of EARTH HOUR with the theme "Switch Off Plastic Pollution, Give an Hour for Earth".

To protect and upkeep the environment clean and healthy, our Tourism workers proceeded to local tourism sites at the Church Ruins, Japanese Tunnel and Vahay nu Pagad to conduct cleaning and clearing operations.

Kudos to all who participated and showed sincere concern for our beloved municipality and province!

We invite everyone to “Kapañinuman: Toast for the Built Heritage of Ivana”, a fund-raising event for the conservation of traditional houses in the Municipality of Ivana.

The entrance fee is Php 1,500. This covers two sets of upscaled drinks and pañimayid.

This event is organized by the Ivatan Heritage Society, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Batanes, the Local Government Unit of Ivana, and the Batanes State College.
