Maryknoll Sanctuary ocular visit during the pandemic in preparation for the Creative Crawl weekend tour for this November organized by the City Tourism Office, DOT and the Creative City Organizing Committee or the BUCCI.
First of the 9 sites to be visited. Transportation care of Soligmay of Agateyeng Tours.
LEARNINGS: Maryknoll is a site ideal for nature walk featuring the evolution of man in stages. Expect to pass through man made caves and a bridge made out of pine flooring. After your nature walk, their structural site has a number of rooms where one of the rooms contains a series of large illustrations great for kids to learn evolution.
At an external side of their facility is a nursery with herbs and arabica coffee seedlings. A vermi-compose pit filled with african night crawler with recycled container platers are among its nursery's highlights. Their compose pit educates visitors the value of contributing to the City's Solid Waste management by post-processing kitchen waste.
While passing through the corridors, a book worm will notice their library filled with interesting books as part of their collection.
The place can also accommodate small scheduled seminars, forums and activities.
CIRCUMSTANCE: Maryknoll was added as replacement to COSTA Farm which is not available because it is located in the Municipality of La Trinidad, Province of Benguet that is currently not open for tourism due to the pandemic.
WHATS NEW. In my photo is a new house structure currently being waterproofed before placing indigenous roofing intended to showcase another interesting idea that will be unveiled this coming month.
DURATION OF TOUR. 1 hr to 2 hrs excluding book reading.
ENTRANCE FEE: P70
